I love this skirt. It is exactly what I was looking for in terms of the pencil skirt, bodycon, high waist and definitely formal, professional dress styling. I love that the elastic waist is folded under a flap, which I would have preferred to be tac stitched down, but is open, which in styling will allow for extra stretch if needed in the waistline, but isn't a problem if the skirt fits you true to size, which in my case, this skirt offers both options. There is a form of shape sculpting sewn into the skirt which is really a plus if you are lacking in the hip area, the material is sewn to make it look as though you have hips. I just started seeing this type of build in material in 2025, which I love. The skirt is knee length (I'm 5'8") and just lays on my body like it should. I think this is a professional wardrobe builder, start with this piece, add a few blouses and a nice blazer/vest, this is how you grow. The skirt is very soft and quite light weight. The fabric is very clingy and stretchy. For me to be able to wear it I would need spanx or something similar under. It wasn't tight on me at all, but it was very form-fitting. The split in the back is wedge shaped and stitched around in place. It hangs smoothly, as do all of the seams and hems. The waistband is a wide elastic band that is folded to the interior. For me the design is very comfortable. The skirt seems to be well made. I would call it business-casual as it is not as tailored as skirts that I would normally wear to work. Also, it is probably too body-con for me. I realize this skirt is on the cheaper side, but overall I don't think it's terrible. The waist band is definitely annoying though because it just rolls and seems like it isn't finished. I ordered an XL, which is bigger than what I normally am, and it fit decently. I wanted room for sitting and didn't want it to be too tight on my mom stomach. I am 5'8, 215 lbs and the XL was perfect. It is very comfortable. I would consider other colors. I paired it with a body suit and fleece lined leggings. It doesn't seem to be the best quality, but for the price, it's great! Read more
This pencil skirt is beautifully cut and very flattering. The waistband is comfortable and stays put. Hangs smoothly, comes to just above the knee. The slit in back is quite high, the listing photo shows it exactly as it is. The material is lightweight, smooth, and soft with a slight amount of stretch. If this had pockets it would be perfect! As it is this is an absolute wardrobe staple. It's supremely versatile, can be dressed up or down in countless ways. Fit is true to size. Good value for the price. This skirt arrived without any odors, loose seams, or hanging threads. It washed up well according to care tag, no shrinking, fading, bleeding, or wrinkling. This is a very cheaply constructed skirt. There is no lining on the inside of it and the material is similar to what I expect for Halloween costumes. With the skirt, the picture makes it appear as if it is a satin, but it’s more like a spandex material. It’s not very thick or strong fabric. The construction is not done well either. There is an elastic waistband that folds over on the inside. It is not fully sewn in, just a few stitches. It does not look it would hold up beyond a few wears. This would not be acceptable in a professional environment and would not buy this expecting to wear it to work. Read more
I don't like the way this skirt lays. The pattern and way it was sewn looks rushed and thrown together. Where they tried to make it a pencil skirt towards the bottom is just a straight line sewn from the bottom and abruptly stops part way up the thigh and it bubbles out. The type of material used is part of the problem is doesn't lay nicely. The waistband looks unfinished as there is no hemline. It's just folded and sewn a little bit at the sides to keep it folded. I tried to iron it to make the waistband look better, that didn't work. The way that it sits on the hips is not flattering. The only way it looks just ok is if your shirt is over the waistband.
