Update: Been wearing the black boots and they are extremely comfortable! I also just bought the light blue. Stunning! Like the sky blue out of the crayola crayon box. These came with the steep shipping price, not directly from Amazon like the black. Black had no smell, pretty box and free shipping. Light blue less pretty box 2 week wait, high shipping cost, also had a very strong chemical smell. So much as I had to open them outdoors and leave them out overnight. Most of the smell dissipated . If I could give ten stars, I would! Way more spectacular in person! I sized up as many mentioned if you have a wider foot. I wear a true size 8.5 but bought the 9. If you have a bit of a wider foot, (no good for super wide), and have a bit of a thicker ankle and above, you need to size up. I have room at the toe as if 8.5 would fit perfectly but it wouldn’t work for me. It has cushion like some mentioned which is fabulous. They feel comfortable. I haven’t worn them yet other than trying them on. I don’t feel there will be any break-in time. I want them in every color! I got the patent black. Don’t hesitate to buy! Combat style yet feminine. They make your feet look small which I love. I’m 64, child of the 60’s teen of the 70’s, new waver rock and roller in my 20’s and still haven’t grown out of it. These are my era but timeless. I call these my “dress combat boots” because they’re so cool and pretty. I get compliments on them when I wear them, too (one guy asked if I was doing a photo shoot, and I said “no, I dress like this all the time.” He laughed. I enjoy the fact that the bling makes them less boring than normal combat boots. I did have to tie the since the laces really tightly though because I have narrow feet, but they fit well now.
