I Need a Stylist, But this is a + in my Wardrobe Adventure

I am 5'4.5" (thought I was 5'6", but seem to have shrunk), 165 lbs I ordered 2x based on measurements and the waist is comfortable, and the pants as baggy as expected. I think using their measurements is adviseable because I usually wear a L to XL (mostly XL, but it varies) First, I want to say that I got these with cropped in mind - I now notice the model was 5'9", so if you are under that height, do not expect cropped. I did have to wear wedges for them not to go under my feet. Not a point loss, (my fault for not paying attention, and I am grateful when they show model height) just expected shorter, and its something to note. This type of pants is new to me. I have always bean a jeans girl, but with menopause came shape changes (and apparently height changes), and I just don't know what is flattering anymore and am trying new things. No, they aren't exactly flattering (maybe they are and I'm just used to different), but i still like them. 1. They are really comfortable and I feel perfect for vacation or, since I go to the dr to get out of the house (sad), going to the Dr or church or a casual wedding. If I had black, I'd even wear it to a funeral, and at the current price, I might. (under 26.00 right now). They are a bit shear, so something underneath is advised, atleast with the apricot, which I have. 2. The wash went easy with no shrinkage. I did cold gentle. (I may try warm next time just because I do everything in warm, but hesitant at the moment)- There were some wrinkles before and after wash, so I think I may have to drag out the steamer- sorry I didn't for pics). I am very happy with these other than wishing they were a bit shorter. I do wish pants like this could have a smooth waist, but this one didn't particularly irritate my waist. Recommended Read more

Nice pants

Nice lightweight pants, the side slit on the bottom adds a nice touch. Perfect for south Florida weather. They run true to size. They can be dressed up or down. I have not worn them yet, as I have not found a top I like with them, but that is on me. LOL Read more

A birthday mistake

This year, for my seventeen year old daughters birthday a friend suggested I try getting her some clothes. I now realize this friend, a mom, was messing with me. I won’t be doing that again. It was the most stressful experience of my life. Even more stressful than having a seventeen year old daughter. Fortunately, my daughter was generous enough to let me know exactly what she thought of this purchase, which is why I’m able to write this review. To sum it up, she told me it “looks like a pair of pajama pants but feels like a pair of business pants.” She found the fabric uncomfortable and the texture unattractive. I also apparently made the mistake of getting something “high waisted,” which she was sure to point out was my mistake and not something the company did wrong. There were a variety of mistakes I made for her birthday this year, according to my daughter. But as far as the high waisted thing goes, she said she’d have to be a lot taller for this to look good. In the five-ten and above range, she was estimating. Again, don’t blame the company for that. Blame me. She found a variety of other things to nitpick and I feel fortunate that she was generous enough to share them at length and in detail—some might say excruciating detail. But they boiled down to the material being uncomfortable and unattractive, the pants being cut like a garbage bag and them only being appropriate for particularly tall, skinny women. I don’t know exactly what lessons I’ve learned here about fabric or the waist length of women or what shoes will match a given style of pants. What I have learned is that next year I’m giving her cash. Read more

Flowing polyester pants, a solid deal for the price

I got these with a little hesitation because they look short (in the "olden days" we called them highwaters) and polyester can be uncomfortable, but the flowiness, linen look, and full hips with elastic waist made the deal for me. They are not short. I'm 5'5" and around 155 pounds and they brush the tops of my feet. I got a large and they fit well. They are loose on my legs and hips and I love the slits at the bottom. "Flowing" is one of my favorite looks. The linen look is maybe a little understated, and while some polyester fabrics can actually be pretty soft, these feel like polyester. They have a little stretch, but they don't breathe. The apricot color is a neutral that goes with so many things in my wardrobe. The major downside is that I find the waistband uncomfortable after wearing the pants for a while. It's both the scratchiness of the fabric gathered with the elastic pressing around my waistline, and the discomfort from moisture from my skin building up slowly. I'm unusually sensitive to such things, though. It wouldn't be a problem if I didn't prefer leaving shirts untucked. The quality seems decent. The stitching seems solid and even, with no loose threads. Read more
