Well-Made, Thoughtfully Designed, and Instantly Loved
Why I Chose This Product My wife and I have been slowly refurnishing and redecorating every aspect of our living room. Our place is small and cozy, and we have a bit of an eclectic style that leans heavily into mid-century modern. We also do not like phony-looking wood and definitely prefer solid wood whenever possible. Most lift-top tables are bulky and crate-like, and we did not want something that would take over the room. We needed all of this on a tight budget, which made finding a suitable coffee table especially difficult. It was the hardest piece for us to get right. Then I came across this beautifully pictured coffee table that seemed to check every box. But does it? Performance and Use Cases When the coffee table arrived, the first good sign was the weight of the box. It was heavy! I did not read much about assembly beforehand since I have put together my fair share of furniture, but when I opened the box, I was thrilled. The color and finish of the wood are beautiful and match our taste and decor perfectly. The wood grain really pops and is a pleasure to look at. Even better, the table comes fully assembled except for the four legs. I pulled them out of the drawers, attached them, placed the table in front of our sofa, and both my wife and I were instantly happy. I could have stopped there and given this a five-star review because it had already exceeded my expectations. But then I started inspecting the build quality more closely. I was impressed with every part. When I opened the drawers, I noticed they have a catch to prevent them from falling out. What made me smile was the simple wooden swivel in the back that acts as the catch. It feels handmade in the best way. The drawers are not deep, since most of the space is reserved for the lift-top compartment, so the catches are absolutely necessary. Another high mark for thoughtful detail. Then comes the lift-top. The storage space underneath is generous and perfect for puzzles, games, an extra blanket, and other useful items. The lift-top itself is sturdy and well built. While the instructions mention a lock on the arms, mine do not seem to have one, but the size and angle make it unnecessary for us. And when we closed the lift-top, we discovered it has a soft-close feature, which was another pleasant surprise. Final Verdict As you can probably tell, this table exceeded our expectations. It is high quality, beautifully made, and solid, all on a budget. We cannot recommend it enough. Even if you are not specifically looking for a lift-top table, it is a beautiful piece on its own. Given the craftsmanship and materials, we know we will have this table for many years to come.
