Good deal! Crisp & loud, safe to hold for us beginners. Should work for children.
The media could not be loaded. These are the first castanets we own and we're very happy with their handling and crisp, loud sound. At under $7 they feel a steal. Comfortbale to hold by the central dips, without dropping them or cramping up, their size works very well with small adult hands. We expect they should work well for children, too. They're made of hard wood, possible treated to a slight white wash and covered in clear glaze. They won't stain easily. Some milling lines and glue residue are visible, but don't disturb our aesthetics, especially considering their price. Their diameter's a bit over 2" and they're about 0.8" high. The wooden material's nicely thick and sturdy. The elastic string is double knotted for a good tension, not hard to break and yet prompt to rebound. The loop between the first and second knot can be used to thread a finger to drop the castanets between use, or simply hang them up for storage. They arrive packaged in individual, plastic zip bags and in a common, plastic zip bag. Read more
