SUPER IMPRESSED!
This is the sharpener I didn't know I needed. I have to admit that when I first came upon these style of sharpeners, it looked like too much work to constantly assemble and disassemble every time you need to sharpen your knives. I wanted a bit of a simpler solution, but because I saw a few YT videos about the product, I decided to give it a try. All I can say is WOW!!! So if you just want something that is really quick and you can use in the field this is NOT that. BUT, I got the bundle pack which does come with the field sharpener that you can throw in a gear bag and I haven't tested that one yet. Its meant only for 20 degree bevel knives so I will test that later since my pocket knife is a 16 degree bevel, I only got to test the bigger system. While this sharpening system isn't cheap, I do think its worth every penny you spend on it. * Everything is just really thoughtfully made with care and precision. * Their use of magnets makes this a game changer. You can easily swap out the sharpening rods because its all magnetic. * You can easily pull out the knife mount because its magnetically attached. * The angle guide is genius and fool proof. It's really hard to mess up as long as you know the bevel angle. * You can even go multi angle if you want to start off with a 15 degree and then just sharpen very edge to 20 for a more sturdier edge. * The case is really premium and nice and has a compartment for each item. I sharpened my pocket knife because it was getting pretty dull from the factory sharpening and I was able to get an edge that EASILY slices through newspaper and can shave off the hairs on my arm. I don't have a sharpness tester at home but if I did, I think it would be well under 300. Overall, if you need a good sharpening system, this is a winner IMO. I was really iffy when I pressed the order button, but once I used it, I was won over. I don't know if this company is the leader in sharpening tools, but if they aren't they should def be top 3. I will def buy more stuff from this company in the future. They really care about their products and not just pushing out junk like some companies.
