Heavy and cumbersome. Quality material but tough on the feet.
There is no doubt that this mat is well made. It's tough to accurately describe, but it is a rugged material that can feel both like a rubber and a bit like metal. There are two different textured sides and while one is a bit less rough than the other, to a tender foot they can feel a bit like concrete. If you spend a lot of time barefoot and have durable soles, than this will probably be comfortable for you. If you're a bit more sensitive or accustomed to a softer mat, than it is a big difference. The biggest downside is the weight. It's incredibly heavy and weighs just under 20 pounds. It does have a carrying strap, but the rigid carbon fiber body can make it a bit tricky to roll up. It becomes a pain if you constantly move it around, so it seems to best suited for a home setup or some time of permanent location if you don't want to tote that weight around constantly. Yes, it is very well made and I have no doubt that it will last decades. However, it's not a great value considering the weight and texture.
