I have dry, dehydrated skin, and though I try to take care of it and keep hydrated, hot summer weather still makes my back itch. It itches too low for me to reach it by reaching over my shoulder, and it itches too high for me to reach it by reaching from the waist upward. Every year, I keep telling myself I'm going to get a good back scratcher, but every year, I fail to do so. Well, not this year. Because this back scratcher is telescopic, I can even carry it in my handbag. I love it. I take it with me almost everywhere, and I keep it within reach when I'm at home. There's almost nothing more irritating than being in a hotel in a foreign country and needing a back scratcher. It's not really something you can pick up the phone and order from room service, and even if you could, I wouldn't be comfortable doing it. This back scratcher seems very sturdy. It does a good job scratching, yet it's not sharp enough to cause harm to yourself, i.e., it won't cut into your skin, and I don't think anyone would want that. It's also nice that it's able to be washed, or at least wiped clean. I wipe mine with a cleansing pad every night. I think a few people who've seen me with this back scratcher, but have never seen me use it, wonder what in the world it is? I actually think one person thought it was some kind of strange implement meant for eating food. (I don't scratch my back in public, however.)
