I used the eggs in a 1 gallon aquarium with a USB heater, and I had several dozen eggs hatched with 36 hrs. I'm sure the eggs would have worked fine in the included aquarium, but we wanted a nicer home for our new pets. What I really like about this kit is the manual - it's large, colorful, informative, and interesting. The kit includes extras, such as stickers and a magnifying glass, which I didn't use. I prefer this kit to the basic Sea Monkey kit (both worked for us), especially for the discounted price. Read more

Nothing has hatched yet but the aquarium itself is cute. Small in size and fun to watch! Read more

So at first I was very nervous to buy this for my 7year old son because of some of these bad reviews, BUT I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that's interested. We followed the directions and not even 48 hours after putting the eggs in, there are about 30 so far that have hatched!! I checked this morning and none were hatched but a few hours later there are so many swimming around!! Wish I could get a good enough video but they are so tiny when first hatched. Weird thing is the directions only want you to use half the eggs for the tank it comes with, so I used the other half in my own plastic container. The eggs I put in my own container are the ones that are hatching. NONE of the eggs In the tank this set came with have hatched yet. But I will do a update in about a week. A HUGE tip I would say is to place your tank in a window sill for daylight but NOT in direct sunlight. This is so interesting for adults and kids both!! UPDATE 1 DAY LATER LOL THERE ARE LIKE 1000 THAT HATCHED IN THE PLASTIC CONTAINER I PUT THE 2ND HALF IN!!!! SO COOL Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is 48 hours after set up. This is a massive hatch rate, maybe too big to sustain water quality. Keep in mind, the instructions say to use half the bag of eggs, but this is only a few scoops with the included feeding spoon and it's already likely too many for the size of the tank. Definitely be conservative when adding the eggs. I'd say maybe 1/8th -1/10th of the pouch is more than enough. Read more

I bought these for my office and was excited to try them, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The first batch never hatched — within four days the water turned murky and the eggs developed mold, so I had to start over. On the second attempt, hundreds seemed to hatch after about four days. I followed the instructions and fed them as directed, but by the very next day almost all had disappeared. About a week later, the water became cloudy again, mold formed, and there were no survivors. I really wanted this to work, but after two failed attempts while following the directions, I can’t recommend this product. Read more

Meh, not the best quality and honestly difficult to use. Other sea monkey kits were easy and kid-friendly. This one had lots of extra steps and I definitely had to help my kiddo on the multi-day process. One positive is that once we added the eggs, there was a very large hatch rate. Read more

They hatched the second day. My sons love it! The aquarium was easy to set up, and didn’t take long. It comes with a lot of stickers to decorate, perfect size for little hands. Great value for money. There is no color variety tho. Overall good quality. Read more
