This jacket is much warmer than I anticipated. It feels heavy in a good quality type of way. It also feels rugged so it should last a long time. I would probably use this in a more casual outdoor setting. The side pockets do feel a bit off. They sit farther back than most jackets, so if you keep your hands in your pockets, it will have a slightly awkward angle. Really liking this jacket a lot! It is on the heavier side which I knew going in but honestly for the cold weather it makes total sense. Keeps you very warm and the quilted lining does a great job blocking the wind. The fleece lined hood is a nice touch too. This is a great coat for anyone living in the northern parts of the world, or the midwest! It's warm and fuzzy insulation feels great and reduces the need to bundle up on cold days. The material is sturdy canvas type. I love the hood and use it all the time. I got this coat to become my everyday fit because I loved the look of it! The fit is a bit off, sadly. I'm 6'4'' and have a longer torso, so it does cover my midsection well, my arms are short a few inches when I stretch my arms out.
