At first I wrote a 2 star review but them MY MISTAKE, I Found an extra piece of support to go in the thumb. I didnt see that piece before. I want to make sure I correct this review. I used it today and it was great. I wanted the thin type material without a bunch of velcro wraps. It comes with the first support piece which isnt much support at all. Its like a zip tie feel. Then they give an added piece which I used and it.was perfect. I didnt feel my thumb pain at all today. Im going to call amazon to get them to reverse the refund if possible. Read more
This should be five stars. The fabric is amazing. Soft, pliable, breathable. The form is spot on, even for big arthritic joint/knuckles. FATAL DESIGN FLAW: they connected the material in the wrap of the thumb, right at the inner ‘soft spot’ at the base of the thumb where you grip, and it’s a weird corner tuck they did so it’s very small and feels like a knot in there. After that rubs from the inside on a sore arthritic thumb joint it’s unbearable and red and swollen after about 30 mins of wear. I couldn’t get it to reposition out. It’s just in the worst place possible. Sad to return this - I love the rest of it but if I just cut the knot out it’s gonna pull somewhere else and cut into circulation. So back it goes. Read more
I almost didn’t purchase this because of the name but decided to ignore it. I have arthritis in both thumbs which is crazy painful. I had a hard plastic brace that gave my thumb support but cut into my skin. Then I purchased light ‘glove like’ braces that were fine but didn’t really support the thumbs. Honestly, this brace is great. It is very light but totally supports the thumb. I highly recommend it. It is definitely worth the money. I’m pretty picky and usually complain about things not being manufactured well but this is durable, offers great compression, and was easy to put on. It’s also easy to clean. It is comfortable, but it also doesn't do much depending on your needs. It does limit movement; however, it doesn't provide stabilization. Also, it looks like it's adjustable, but it isn't. It's sewn together; you slip it on like a glove. Small is a perfect fit for me, my wrists are 6.5" if that helps. Read more
I love it because it is comfortable, but I am disappointed that the metal support is on the back of my thumb instead of the front, where the problem is. Other than that, the material adjusts to your skin, is very soft, and you forget you have it on. Read more
I ordered these for my 86 year old mother to help with her arthritis pain in her thumb. She already had a couple of thumb splints with velcro straps that she used sometimes but she didn’t like wearing them as they were too bulky and complicated to get on with only one hand to tighten and secure the straps. They were also very rigid and when wearing them she couldn’t use her hand well enough to pick things up or hold things effectively. When we received these I was doubtful as they are so sheer and lightweight. It didn’t seem like they would offer much support or stability but my doubts were unwarranted. Mom LOVES them! She can wear them all day and spend hours playing her games on her iPad with her stylus without any pain. They are very thin and form fitting with no bulky straps. They are very easy for her to slip on and off with only one hand. The pink/beige color blends well with her skin tone and doesn’t stand out. She isn’t self conscious about wearing them in public as they are barely noticeable. The rigid thumb support inside them is still flexible enough to allow her to pick things up, write and use the stylus for gaming on her iPad while still restricting her thumb movement enough to prevent her pain. She is VERY happy with these thumb braces and I am very happy see her using her hands pain free. Read more
Sizes listed don’t make sense, I have no idea what size I was sent because there’s no indication on the brace or the package. It’s very small but did eventually stretch to get it on. Probably can’t wear it at all with the metal protector because it digs into the thumb knuckle making it painful. Will try without the metal to see if the fabric is enough to protect the thumb. Also feels too tight on the thumb but comfortable on the wrist so may need a bigger one. Read more
