I purchased this base unit along with a XH02-M heat alarm. It was a response to the building inspector’s (Sonoma County CA) requirement for a networked alarm with a heat sensor at the garage house battery in case of a fire due to over heating. My battery was an LFP type so a fire was an unlikely event. Installation and networking of the system was straightforward and easy to follow. The manuals were printed on very small booklets that were a bit difficult to read but adequate. Packaging was efficient. Amazon had speedy delivery. A test triggering of the heat sensor itself did not set off the base unit (heat unit’s alarm worked). However, after seeing another reviewers video, I got a successful test with a hair drier. Both units went off with ear piercing alarms and notifications on the X-Sense app. I need find out if the inspector will require additional alarms in other parts of the house. Read more

I was shocked at how simple this was to set up, even for a flake like me (although the instruction manual is doll sized). Connected it to one of the water leak sensors and like it so much that I will get some of the other devices too. It sends you an immediate alert via app and email, which really saved me. The volume on the base can be changed so it won't drive neighbors crazy if you're not there. Very pleased. Read more

This was an easy setup. I needed to put a heat-sensitive fire alarm in the garage. I thought any would do and this is not the case: has to be heat, not smoke. I got the X-Sense alarm and did not realize I needed the Base Station to actually hear it better upstairs if it every went off. Setting up was just a quick scan and some household info. Very fast! The only problem is, this company does not make regular smoke alarms that connects to THIS base station. Note to manufacturer: I tested this with a hair dryer. Only the base sounded (different product). The actual heat alarm didn't. I got the app notifications. Then I manually tested it and it sounded off. In a fire, I want both to go off, not just the base. How do I get it to do that? Read more

Bought the base station and the heat sensor together. Easy install & setup. Running fine for six weeks. Recently, the base station has been going offline for no apparent reason. The base station is installed in my comm closet along with my router. Can't get much closer than that. When I look at the base station, the blue "X" light is glowing indicating "all is well". This going offline has happened three times in the past week. BTW: Nothing has been moved since the install. Read more
