1 Inch Transition Coupling

WilfredJanuary 3, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I don't know how to thank this company and Amazon for their 1 inch Polybutylene to Pex coupling. I have a house which was built in 1994 and have all polybutylene pipes (unfortunately). Had no clue how bad Polybutylene pipe could be until at 4 am I woke up with a huge thud noise. I thought a burglar has entered the house. Luckily I didn't ignore and explored the area all around the house and heard huge water gushing in between the dry walls and draining right to my basement. The polybutylene pipe has busted behind the dry wall. I closed the main water line within 5 minutes and avoided catastrophic damage to the house. Well I cut the dry wall and located the ends of the busted pipe. I thought that was the most difficult part. I was totally wrong. The two ends of Polybutylene won't come together as it needed an additional addition of about 8 inch of pipe. With polybutylene pipe no one selling I had no option other than to connect the two with an addition of 8 inches of PEX pipe between the two Polybutylene pipe ends. But it needed what is called "Polybutylene to Pex transition coupling" . To find that coupling for 1 inch diameter became a nightmare. No big box store would carry it and almost 15 more plumbing supply stores I tried locally and no one would carry it. All of them carry only 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch Transition coupling. WTF? How come no one carry 1 inch coupling when most of the houses built until 1994 still have Polybutylene pipes?. Don't they need repairs? Frustrated and without water for 5 days I resorted to Amazon and I found those coupling by this company XFITTING. They arrived in 4 days (there was no option of overnight delivery). I fixed my pipe with crimping tool and crimps and turned on the water supply and thank God no more leaks. Well the take home message is that AMAZON Rocks and thanks to this company XFITTING for selling those couplings. Though I don't like shark-bite push type couplings but I would have bought those if they were selling 1 inch diameter. Even they don't sell 1 inch diameter transition couplings. They only sell 3/4 inch ploybutylne to PEX couplings. I don't know what would have I done to fix this without this company selling 1 inch couplings. No one else sells it. Thanks in tons to XFITTING for saving me from further suffering without water. I shall buy more from them to stock it for future emergencies. Read more

RV plumbing leaks

CustomerFebruary 24, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I used them to yes as a splice from 1/2” Pex B to the polyvinyl flexible hose that Grand Design used in our 2023 Momentum RV. They just used the Pex B union to join them and most of their joints started leaking when the outside temperature were from the lower 50 degrees to down to 42 degrees. So far my repairs are holding. The water pressure at this RV park located in Rockport, TX is 44 psi. Read more

These fittings are hard to find around here. It is really nice to order them and have them ion hand. Lots better than running around town trying to find them. Read more
