Over the past eight years I have purchased 6+ Xicar butane lighters, the first of which quit working after about a year. Per their policy, I sent it in and was replaced with a new one. The next one I lost, and then of the next two, I lost one, and the other stopped working after a few months. I recently decided to give it one more try and ordered two of the same. From the moment I opened them, one of them would only work for a short while and then stop. I would fill it with fluid which I could see through the Little window and 10 minutes later still not working and it seemed to be out of fluid. Apparently there’s some sort of leak. The second one appears to be working for now. Unfortunately, it’s such a hassle to Return the defective one I’m just gonna stop Buying this brand. I think they figured that It’s such a hassle to return. The people won’t bother. Cigar warehouse has kindly agreed to send me a replacement, which changes my perception of their company, but the Xicar lighters have gone downhill from what they used to be. Read more

Lighter was smaller than I expected. All together well made. The only issue I have with this brand lighters and I have many is that the finishing coat wears off pretty quickly. For the price and brand, I expected it to work. I've smoked cigars for 25 years, and Xikar is a good brand for accessories. Again... been doing this a while, so I know how to bleed off a lighter before filling, to let it sit, and THEN to use it. And, no matter how much I baby this lighter, it simply is so unreliable that I can't ever take it with me, unless I have a backup. I want my money back. Or a replacement. Read more

Well designed and built, works great. Nice features: The flame compartment opens and closes with the ignition bar, so the orifice is protected from dirt & lint when not in use. I also like the flame adjustment, the fuel window and its compact size. Read more

This lighter is gorgeous. I sort of have a lighter collection from Zippos to vectors to off brand random ones to xikars. The moment I opened the box I knew this would be my favorite one. It is so clean and the finish is so easy to look at and ergonomical. It is a little smaller than I expected and Im actually happy about that. It is the same height and thickness as a standard Zippo but about 10% less wide. There is a fat dial at the bottom to make flame adjustment easy and there is also a fuel gauge. Hopefully this lighter will last a while but even if something goes wrong Xikar has their awesome lifetime warranty. Well done guys. Read more
