I purchased this lighter from Amazon. From the very beginning it was troublesome. It would only light when the flame adjustment was on it's highest setting. Then it would refuse to light when the fuel was only 1/2 used. In order to light you would have to fill the fuel back to the top. Then it stopped working altogether. When I was preparing it for return I was emptying the fuel out of the lighter. After I was sure I had all the fuel out I clicked the igniter down and it stayed in the down position broken. At the price they charge the quality should be higher. Very sad to see a once great company quality go to the bottom. Read more

This is a very good quality lighter as far as the feel and look of it and the flame itself. The fuel window is nice and somehow turns red to show the fuel level. The first fill it did not turn red, but now is red. The flame adjustment knob is big and easy to turn. It's a beefy lighter too, somewhat heavy in the hand. There a few things I don't like about it. One is it burns fuel quickly. I suppose this may be due to having the 3 flames (only owned single flames before). It's a powerful flame too. I would say it lasts only about 15-20 lights. Another issue is the need to adjust the flame constantly. The very first time I tried the lighter, it was on high flame setting and the flame literally was 12" long! Enough to scare my wife even who was watching as this was a Valentine's Day gift. Once I tried it several times, the flame settled down, so maybe it needed breaking in? The main issue is you need to adjust the flame often as the fuel drops down. When full, you need it on the lowest setting possible to have a normal flame. High setting is still 6" tall. But as the fuel drops, so does the flame height. At half tank, it won't even light at the low setting. You need to keep moving the flame setting up as the fuel drops, eventually ending up at the highest setting to get a normal flame. Kind of annoying. Read more
