The DVD player was received properly packaged with no damage to the container. Hooked up the DVD player to the TV and turned it on using the manual controls, everything appeared to be working correctly. Tried using the remote which didn't function at all. Contacted customer service for the vendor, let them know what the problem was, they asked a couple of question and then sent a new remote the same day. This was my third JVC DVD player; the first two were great, the third was a lemon. The disc tray was physically jammed into the upper cabinet opening and had to be pried out with a knife. It would not respond to remote signals. After playing one disc, the machine would not respond to any button commands, including the eject button. To retrieve the disc, I had to disassemble the entire cabinet. I discarded it into the trash and replaced it with another brand. Read more

Using this primarily to play recorded music on CD. Plays MP3 and WMA. Hooked up to the amp and speakers, makes a very good CD player. Will not be using it for video, but multi-region feature looks attractive. Read more

This is the second DVD player that I have bought to play any region code DVDs. Both players played the picture in black and white, even after trying HDMI hookup and new cables. My advice...don’t buy this one! Asked for a refund but was refused. Read more
