Ordered these to play bridge with when my thumbs are too sore to hold the cards. I was concerned after reading some of the reviews that there would be issues with the openings or they would fall over all the time. They have worked well. I bought the set to share with a few others in the bridge group. Two of us have used them without any issue. The groove for the cards was wide enough, almost too wide. I felt my cards were more secure if I put them closer together. With bridge you hold 13 cards and this easily holds that many cards. It's almost too big! I would think you could easily hold 20 cards, maybe even 25. So far there have been no issues with it tipping over either. The curve is just perfect, enough to keep the cards from being seen by anyone. Still trying to decide if I will add a bit of a board at the base for my own peace of mind in regards to tipping over even though it hasn't happened. I would definitely recommend. Perfect to keep my partner and I playing our weekly games of Canasta after my shoulder surgery. The requirement to wear a sling for several weeks eliminated my ability to hold and use my cards during the games, and this holder was the perfect answer to that dilemna.
