Best investment

This is the best investment a guy can make. To be able to lift weights at home is life changing. I had this exact set (60 lb set), lost it in a move, and just replaced it. IMPORTANT: Watch the plates as you lift during and between sets. The collars can shift, weight and motion of the plates can relatively quickly come off and liable to drop a plate during a set, which could crush your foot or face depending on what you're doing. I had the 8lb plate fall off while doing standing dumbbell curls and thank goodness it missed my foot by a few inches. Just always be looking at the collars AS you lift, and tighten them back between sets. I believe it is partly because the threads on the bars are sparse and wide; a more finely densely threaded bar and collar design might prevent slipping (in case manufacturer is reading this). The little tightening screws on the collar are not engineered well enough to handle the plate weight and motion. It is a risk to use these dumbbells but IT IS WORTH using them despite the risk. Be watchful and frequently tighten collars between sets or even during a set of you need to. Keep Lifting!!!! Much more versatile and less expensive than buying various fixed weights. 60 lb set includes: 2x dumbbell bars at 4lb each 4x 8lb plates 4x 5lb plates 4x screw on collars to secure the weights onto the bars Keep in mind each bar weighs 4 lbs, so if you load them evenly, you'll have, in each hand: 2x 8 lb plates = 16 lbs 2x 5 lb plates = 10 lbs 1x 4lb bar = 4 lbs Total for each hand = 30 lbs Keep in mind you can increase the weight too if you want to do some workouts with just one barbell, which is perfectly fine. Ie load a dumbbell to 56 lbs and just do one arm at a time, or for heavy tricep press etc. The set came very well packaged in tight fitting foam, nothing sliding around, and in perfect condition (see photo). The box also has a glossy instructions pamphlet which shows a a good variety of exercises, in case you are just starting out as a weight lifter. This is a very well made set, high quality steel bars and quality plates, although the plates are traditional and don't have rubberized coating, so I suggest getting some good dense rubber or foam floor mats if you're using these on hardwood floor to avoid dinging the wood or maybe even if on concrete if you're worried about clanging when you set them down (or just put them down gently and don't just drop em like some people do at the gym). This 60 lb set is absolutely perfect and fine for anyone from a beginner to a fairly fit man, especially considering you can load one bell higher than 30lbs and alternate arms. You can always buy more plates to stack on the bars if you get to that point, but if you have this set as well as a barbell set and power cage, you are SET to get RIPPED. (With decent food intake lol). For the price, quality, and versatility this is THE dumbbell set every man should own. Read more

Heavy-Duty and Long-Lasting: The Best Adjustable Dumbbells I’ve Bought

I picked up the 200 lb Yes4All Adjustable Dumbbell Set a few years ago, and it’s easily one of the best purchases I’ve made for my home gym. The weight is accurate, the plates are durable, and despite using them six days a week for heavy lifts, they’re still in great shape—no rust, the coating is intact, and the threading remains smooth. The grip is rough (which helps with control), but gloves are definitely recommended. Overall, these dumbbells have held up incredibly well and continue to perform like new. Strongly recommend. Pros: - Accurate weight and solid build - Extremely durable even with heavy, frequent use - Coating still intact after years—no rust - Great value for a high-capacity adjustable set - Connector option adds versatility Cons: - Rough, non-slip grip may require gloves for comfort, but to be expected A long-lasting, heavy-duty set that’s perfect for serious home gym training. Great for dumbbell versatility!

I'm quite pleased with these. I do have a few points to mention that might help someone decide if these are the dumbbells for them, but first the positive points. I love that there's so much flexibility in weight with these. Rather than having to pay an arm and a leg and sacrifice a ton of room real estate for a massive set of individual dumbbells, this set allows you to choose whatever weight you want in a compact fashion. The weights ARE interchangeable with barbell weights, which is an added bonus I never expected, allowing even more versatility and more reason to purchase these over traditional dumbbells. The feel of these is sturdy and hardy. No weight wobbles, no imbalances, just a solid pair of dumbbells. The fact that a connector can be added to turn this into a short barbell is absolutely fantastic. Although I have a separate olympic barbell, the option to connect these is just too good to pass up. I wouldn't say there are any negatives, but there are things that might help better determine if these are right for you. The handles are quite long, for a start, so that takes some adjusting in range of motion. If I want to work on the short head of my bicep, for instance, I can't bring the dumbbells as close to my body as I can with a traditional set since the handle is so long. It's not a problem, just something to consider. Range of motion is affected by the length. Along similar lines, the weights are equivalent to barbell weight plates, so if you can imagine curling or pressing or extending barbell weight plates, you get the idea of how awkward it might be with some of the moves you would traditionally do with a small set of dumbbells. The handle itself weights close to 5 lbs, so that's something to take into consideration when plating the handles. If you put two 5 lbs plates on it to make your dumbbell 10 lbs, you actually have a 15 lbs dumbbell in your hand since it's the plates plus the handle. I have zero problem with this because (a) I adjust accordingly, and (b) it encourages me to increase what I'm lifting to the next level. But this is certainly something to consider. The last point is that while it's super easy to pop the weights off and on, there is still a time factor involved, so if you're trying to do something like drop sets with a 15-30 second rest in between, you're a wee bit out of luck because it'll take you longer than that to unscrew the clamp, adjust the weight, screw back the clamp, then get back to lifting. Again, not a big deal and easy to do, but it's something to consider. I'd recommend these for sure and am super pleased with the product. The "drawbacks" are minor and don't affect my enjoyment of the product. Would I still like to have a full set of traditional dumbbells even though I have these? Yes, for the reasons mentioned above--especially, drop sets would be easier with traditional; some moves would be easier with traditional. But for now, these are perfect for my needs and an excellent choice in place of the traditional dumbbells, especially considering the versatility in using it as a barbell, adjusting the weights, and interchanging the weights with an olympic barbell. UPDATE: After using these for a couple of months, I've discovered two major drawbacks: (1) the black coating is chipping off. I've not used these enough for that to happen. My gym floor is steadily being covered with the chipping coating. (2) the star locks don't hold well. It doesn't seem to matter how tightly I spin the screw, after just a few lifts, the star lock becomes loose, and the weights wobble. This is especially a problem when doing things like tricep kickbacks where the plates are putting extra weight on the star lock. Super dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. I'm still using these and still enjoy the versatility, but I've had to really change how and when I use them given the difficulty to secure the weight lock. I'm also doing a whole lot of vacuuming!
