I use it to protect my keyboard.
The box arrived dented on the corner, but I do not fault the product for the occasional bad handling of boxes by Amazon. Inside the box they put plastic protector caps on the corners and one was broken, but the product was not damaged. Inserted inside of the legs is inner metal sleeves that are threaded for the screws. The top has countersunk screw holes so the screws will lay flush with the surface. A small screwdriver was included, but I was able to just use my fingers to get it started. If you have not worked with acrylic before, be careful not to tighten the screws down as acrylic will crack. Not much pressure is needed to secure the legs and there is really no need to tighten it too much. Also included in the box is sticker sheet of clear rubber feet for the legs if you choose to use. They are flat rubber, not the half a bubble type, so they are hardly noticeable and look good. The top is 3/8 inch thick, sturdy enough for a small monitor. If I push down hard on the center I can make the plastic bow down, so if you are going to place something heavy right in the center it's best to distribute the weight across its length by using a plank under the object. Otherwise the constant pressure on the center over time might make the plastic develop a permanent bow in it. I am completely happy with the product and use it to slide my keyboard under when not in use to keep it protected from the cat. The top I use as a shelf and it holds my phone charger, external hard drives and a remote or two. I purchased this one because there was only a couple available with the length I needed to stow my large keyboard beneath. Read more
