We're doing e-learning this year with our third grader while I work from home. She has a desk, but for a busy eight-year-old, sitting at a desk from 8:30 to 3 for classes all day is just not natural and it isn't good for her body. We've added cushions to her chair to help it to be a better ergonomic option and we've gotten her a ball to sit on from time to time, too. Both of those things have helped, but we got this mat for her to lay on her belly to work and this is now her favorite way to work. Having different options to change her perspective helps her to reset and refocus between subject blocks. It's thick and well made. It's a comfy option for her and it helps her to get ready for a subject because she gets everything she'll need and puts it on her mat before she starts her work.
