For about 5 years now, a yoga mat has become a 'must' for my daily workouts of leg lifts, resistance band stepping, pushups, weights, balance, yoga, and pilates. I've been buying mine at TJX for about $14 and swapping them out annually, for a variety of reasons, mostly having to do with not wanting bacteria or anything else to build up. I've had no complaints or reason to change suppliers. When I saw this more expensive mat available for 3 x what I've been paying, I ordered without hesitation to learn what i might be missing. I've had it for about 3 weeks, but it didn't take 3 weeks to make up my mind-- only wanted to give this mat a fair opportunity to prove me wrong. It hasn't. To begin, it is slightly, but noticably thinner. Not nearly as cushiony and comfortable as my $14 TJX mats. That matters big time for me-- workouts go from positive to negative when the workout takes place on a mat thats not greatly different from the hard surface beneath me. The PAIDU also tends to creep across both the floor and my bedroom oriental rug, which soon becomes annoying in the midst of a workout where I need to get up off the floor and pull it back into position. Then get back on the floor and resume. Finally. Note the curlng on the mat's ends. It arrived from AMZN curled up tightly and despite putting weights on it and rolling it up inside out, the curl remains 3 weeks later. One plus, the working side surface does seem to have a grip to it in event you are prone to slipping. Bottom line: even if the price were similar or less, I choose my $24 TJX yoga mats. Read more
