I have been using my LifeBoard for my yoga practice at home since the pandemic. The locations where I want to do yoga are carpeted so this is a must to provide stability and the right surface for my mat. It is durable, easy to use, easy to store, slip resistant. Works great outside as well, but don't leave it out in the sun or elements. Highly recommend! Read more
I originally bought the Root Board. It was very heavy, and the point at which the two pieces came together bowed under my weight (for reference, I am a woman of average height who is not at all overweight). The clips that the Root Board come with did little to resolve the issue. Not to mention, the Root Board came damaged (which I assume happened in transit), so a part of the wood splintered off leaving a rough, exposed area. I returned the Root Board and purchased a Lifeboard. Cheaper. Lighter. Much more supportive and stable at the seam where the two pieces come together. Made of plastic, so no worrying about bumping it and damaging it. Just better all around. This design is much more functional and intentional than the Root Board's. It's a joy to practice on and stays put on carpet. If you're torn between the two, save your money/time and go with the Lifeboard...and that's coming from someone who doesn't mind shelling out a bit more cash on things of value! Read more
I did yoga on the LifeBoard today and I love it. It feels just like doing it on hard floor and this considering I have very thick carpet with cushy underlay. It does not bow or warp in the middle even when doing tree right on top of it. The middle creaks sometimes when moving, but very rarely and no more than creaky floor. My large mat fits nicely on it. The board is thin enough to not feel odd when I stretch lying down and my arms or legs spill out of it. It is easy to set up and it fits nicely and easily behind the sofa in the playroom. Overall I am really satisfied and would definitely recommend it. Read more
I'm in the UK but ordered this yoga board from the US as it worked out significantly cheaper, even with the shipping and taxes! My home yoga space is our spare room, which is carpeted, and my practice has suffered as balance and stability is hopeless on carpet. For what is essentially a piece of hard plastic it's a very expensive item, but hopefully a one-off purchase that will last me forever. It didn't come with any instructions, but it wasn't hard to figure out how to put the two pieces together. It feels sturdy and good quality and I'm hoping it'll improve my yoga practice going forward. It's pretty heavy, but good it can be taken apart for easy storage, and it's easy to do once you have the knack. The middle section of my board isn't cut quite right so it doesn't fit perfectly, but I'm hoping I won't notice once my mat is on top. Overall, very happy with my purchase, and shipping to the UK from the US was pretty quick and easy. Read more
Yoga novice here. My rubber yoga mat was slipping on the rug here at home. Got the LifeBoard and it’s a game changer. No more appreciable slippage and it steadies my yoga poses. So for me it was well worth the money. If you want to enhance the no slippage aspect, you can put rug gripper between the yoga mat and the LifeBoard, but I haven’t found that necessary. Read more
I occasionally need to do yoga in a carpeted room upstairs in my house and it is the worst! I had even been contemplating redoing the floors. And then I found this. It’s the perfect solution! It is easy to carry, assemble, and take apart to store. And while it is a bit pricey, it is much less expensive than redoing my floors! It provides the same firm and stable base as my hardwood floors downstairs. It’s exactly what I needed! Highly recommend! Read more
I’ve been practicing yoga for 15 years, owned my own studio, taught for 10 years and have been on a teaching hiatus since the middle of Covid. The past year my yoga practice has been pretty much non existant because I moved into an apartment with wall to wall carpet. The plush was ruining my expensive manduka yoga mat causing stretch marks on it. I was hesitant to purchase life board but a yoga teacher left a good review, so I got it and it was worth every penny. Reviews complain about how expensive it is, but I got my yoga practice back! I didn’t realize how much I missed it and I feel amazing because if it. You can’t put a price on that. It’s sturdy. The board comes in 2 pieces and it connects in the middle (width wise not lengthwise) with a zigzag seam. You can stand on the seam and it doesn’t bend or bow. It’s pretty unbelievable. And the bottom is textured so it grips the carpet. It will not slide. You can do jump backs or floats forward and it’ll stay put. I feel safe inverting on it. I honestly can’t say enough good things. I only wish they had more size options so I could have a sturdy surface to bring my workouts back home. Def get one! I highly recommend. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I had not done much yoga prior to ordering the LifeBoard. I would go to yoga classes sporadically but felt self-conscious and never felt like it would be something I’d get into. My girlfriend and brother always would encourage me to do more yoga but my excuse was that my whole house has carpet and I was embarrassed being a sweaty, crooked mess in expensive yoga classes. My brother does yoga daily and has a room in our duplex that has a large piece of plywood over the carpet that is a yoga studio. I don’t usually thought about doing the same, but was off, put by its size and weight, and the hassle of transporting it in my small car. I decided to get the more expensive LifeBoard and I don’t regret it at all. All my worries about it we’re settled in the first few weeks. It’s thick, tough, high quality and it does not come apart or bend on the carpet. I’ve done yoga on it at least three times a week since I got it in September (sometimes five days a week) I just love it. Being able to practice in my home has allowed me to enjoy yoga deeply and I think both yoga and the LifeBoard will be in my life for a long time. May 19 2023 UPDATE: Still love it, brought one for my girlfriend when she moved in and she also loves it! Read more
