Won't go into pair mode

Won't go into pair mode. No qr code for pairing, no instructions in box. Looked on internet one says press 3 times until light flashes to pair. Another says hold button to pair. Nothing works to get it in pair mode. JUNK and no support. Returned and bought different brand. Read more

zigbee temperature/ humity sensor

The wifi ones are cheaper, but I wanted zigbee. They work great, easy to install with my Veraplus zigbee controller. Just a little expensive. These are battery powered which fits my purpose. I am not sure how long the batteries last and they are special batteries. The spec says the battery will last 300 hours, which is not that long. Time will tell. As far as function goes they are accurate and easy to install. Read more

humidity sensor doesn't work well with Smartthings

This review is for the 2-in-2 sensor. My intent was to use the humidity sensor to control a fan in my bathroom with SmartThings. It paired easily with my SmartThings hub. But I had two issues with this sensor for this use: 1) the sample rate for humidity is low. I don't know exactly what the sample rate is but it's longer than the duration of my shower (even if you set the sample rate to 8 minutes in the SmartThings IDE). This is not good enough for my intended use. 2) it paired easily to my SmartThings hub. But within hours, it disconnected. I would re-pair it and, again, it would disconnect. Frustrating. Read more

No humidity data

I paired this device with the Smart Things hub and used just about every device handler I could find, but could only get a temperature reading, no humidity. I have left it on the network for several days, but no luck. The range is fine for me, but It is not far from the hub, just a floor above. I used the device handler (Aeotec multi) recommended in other reviews and tried a custom one from Github as well (plus at least 10 others from the standard list). Perhaps the humidity sensor is broken in my particular device, but I can’t be sure. I actually have 2 Aeotec multi-sensor 6’s but they run out the batteries so fast that I was looking for an alternative piece of hardware that might be more efficient. Disappointed. Read more

Works with SmartThings out of the box. Does its job, but not great.

tl;dr: It works, it does what it says, it works with SmartThings without any custom device handler nonsense, but has short range and pairing instructions don't work. I bought the temperature/humidity sensor by itself. It pairs with my SmartThings hub and is detected as an Aeon MultiSensor 6. This means that the device will display in SmartThings as having 6 different sensors, but only two of them (temperature and humidity) actually work and the motion sensor will continuously report motion detected. Despite it being detected as a completely different device entirely, it does report temperature and humidity and the default device handler allows you to adjust reporting intervals which can save battery life. The temperature reporting registered a couple degrees higher than my other temperature sensors nearby, humidity appeared to be fairly accurate. My biggest complaint is that the range on this device is fairly short. I bought it to monitor the environment inside a beehive, but it's unable to reach the SmartThings hub inside the house (about 60 feet through walls) and it won't hop through the z-wave door lock on the back door (about 30 feet with line of sight). This makes it completely useless for the application I bought it for without buying a z-wave repeater, which more than doubles the total cost. The short range is most likely due to limitations in the 900mhz z-wave standard itself so I'm replacing it with a zigbee alternative. The only other complaint is that the instructions to re-pair the device if it drops off or if you need to rebuild the z-wave mesh topology do not work. While troubleshooting the range, I tried to re-pair it and ran into this problem. Flipping the switch on the back 3 times did absolutely nothing. Through some trial and error, I found that flipping the switch 3 times then holding it down a 4th time for a few seconds got the LED to light up and dim slowly, and releasing the switch after about a second when the LED dimmed put it into pairing mode, which you can confirm by the blinking LED. It's not perfect but if you need an inexpensive humidity sensor that works natively with SmartThings I can recommend this. Just make sure you've got a strong, established z-wave mesh within close range of where you want to use it and don't use it for any critical applications that depend upon highly accurate reporting. meh it works, inaccurately

unit is small and works well with my z-wave gateway, like that it uses a cr-123a battery, downfall the humidity is exactly 5 points high compared against 3 calibrated hygrometers. Read more

stopped woirking after a month.

I had 4 of these units to monitor temperatures and humidites around the house. After a month of working fine, they all stopped working one after the other. I have replaced the batteries, tried resetting them, but nothing. When they first came, there was lights that would turn on inside, the lights do nothing now. they are all dead. I would recommend not getting this item at this time to anyone that wants or needs a reliable temp and humidity sensor. Read more

Don't bother

When the device arrived it had zero, zip, nada instructions. Also, Amazon description was misleading. It actually requires a specific hub in order to work. Not mentioned on the Amazon page. Read more
