Once I realized they were not quite the relaxed fit I prefer, I passed them on to my son, who is a little slimmer than I am, and they suited him much better. On him the fit looks more like what is advertised as a casual lounge or beach pant, with a straight leg that falls nicely without clinging. The fabric has some visible wrinkles from packaging, but that is expected with this kind of cotton and linen blend, and a quick pass with an iron makes them look more polished. He commented that the pants feel soft and easy to move in and that the elastic waist with the off white drawstring keeps them secure without digging in. He also appreciated having usable pockets on the sides and back instead of the tiny decorative ones that some lighter pants have, which makes them practical for phone and keys when he is walking around. From my perspective these are a good choice if you like a relaxed look but do not want heavy sweatpants, and you are careful about sizing and shrinkage after washing. Extremely comfortable and stylish, the baggy legs make these comfortable enough to wear all day and not feel like you can hardly wait to get home and change. I bought these for my son, and they fit and look great, so the sizing is true to size. I ordered a size large and he is 176 pounds, 32" waist in pants and 5'10". I'm glad I washed these before he wore them, as I don't think he has taken them off yet! As far as the wash, I washed in cold water and then used the permanent press setting on the dryer. They shrank less than 1" and didn't need ironing as I took them out of the dryer the minute it shut off and hung them up. On the inside, the seams are finished with a surge stitch, so there was no fraying even after washing. My son really appreciated the drawstring, drawstring in addition to the elastic waistband which allowed for better customizing the waist. He has worn these out for a date night with his wife, with a sweater over the top. They look like a dress slack if you don't see the waist and drawstring. He has already ordered a Khaki pair; he's booked a cruise this summer and wants to have these to take. 5 stars! Read more

These cotton and linen pants have a classic casual fit as in the side pictures, rather than like the main pic of baggy pants in the product description, but not the snugger fit of jeans either. The fit is true to size, but it's possible that they could shrink up to .8 inches in the wash as stated, so need to be a cold wash and air dry. The fabric is lighter and breathable so is suited to warmer weather. It has a smooth, fine weave and a bit of a sheen so feels and looks like a dressier pant and doesn't have the look of sweatpants. 2 standard deep side pockets and 2 back patch pockets with buttoned flaps. There's an elasticized waistband that's almost 2" wide, with a drawstring cord for adjusting. Only one thing I don't like but have to mention about these: It would look so much better if the cord were also black instead of the white that stands out in stark contrast and is so noticeable, so I might actually replace it.
