Zebra Pen STEEL F-402 Retractable Ballpoint Pens 0 7mm Fine Point Black Ink Stainless Steel Barrel and Clip

There is just something about these pens that no others compare for me. I'm pretty particular about my writing utensils and have tried many different pens through out the years. I keep coming back to these as my all time favorites. First, the weight of the pen is perfect. It's a nice weight, not too light, but not too heavy. I think the metal body with the black grip is sleek and comfortable. The pen itself feels higher-end and professional. The ink and the way it writes is also supreme. The ink dries fast and I have not experienced smearing as I am writing. The pen also writes very smoothly, even if I'm writing on a single piece of paper on a hard surface (you know how that can be). I use this pen to write in my bible and it does not bleed through or tear into the next page. Also, even if I have gone a few weeks without using it, the ink is still readily available and I don't find myself scribbling on pages to get it going again. Overall this is a superior pen. I love the Zebra f-402! The fine-point tip is perfect for writing, and actually helps my penmanship look nicer. It is comfortable, and the ink flows across the page at just the right rate and resistance. The padded grip is a plus. This pen is slightly weightier than the Zebra f-301, so feels slightly better and more balanced in my hand than the f-301. The blue ink is, also, a nice shade of blue. The price point is very reasonable for such a "nice-writing" pen. The diameter of the barrel is perfect for me. Others may prefer larger-barrel pens. I would say this is my favorite go-to pen! I always read some of the one star reviews. I am always amused that there are some people who just claim to have so many different problems. This is a classy and quality pen. It has a very fine tip, and I have used them for 20 years and have never had one single issue. You can’t go wrong with these pens, hell I even gave my Doctor one and when I asked him on my next visit if he had ever tried it out, he told me that he really liked it and that he kept it at his other office in another town, and he thanked me, and said he was going to get a pack so that he could start using them all the time and replace his other go to favorite. I thought he was just being polite, which he is a very polite man. But on my next visit two months later, I just smiled to myself when I saw him using the pen at the office we were at, and another one neatly tucked into his shirt pocket. Love Zebra writing pens. I've remained a loyal user for over 20 years. This F-402 (IMHO) just falls a bit short. Always used the F-301 series. I feel it's the best pen going for the cost. I've really come to love the ALL METAL F-701. While obviously more expensive: the balance, weight, and writing point are A+ in every way. Unlike some other Zebra users; I've not experienced any issues with ink. Perhaps their skipping issue rests more with paper quality? This F-402 Pen, IMHO, seems to equal Zebra writing quality. Again; I just personally feel it falls short in other areas. I don't care for the smooth rubber grip. It really lightens the pen; throwing off the balance; ... as does the cheap, plastic ink insert instead of the normally present "all metal." Again IMHO, that "cheapens" it. I'd rather stay with the all metal F-701; or the metal & hard plastic "ribbed grip" F-301. Thanks for your time. Read more

This pen is phenomenal! I like fine point ballpoints best of all pen types, and this is one of the best I've ever used. I especially like that it doesn't glide out of control on the paper like so many gel pens do. It has some resistance on the paper, which fits my writing style incredibly well. I'm amazed that this pen seems so durable, works really well and is as affordable as it is. I'd gladly pay 2 or 3 times as much for it. I haven't really found anything about it that I don't like. What I like: - The non-slip grip works well for my writing style, hand-size, etc. It's very "grippy" and makes it easy to keep the pen stable. - The ballpoint refill in this pen makes it one of the best ballpoints I've ever used, if not the best. - Seems like it will be very durable. It amazes me that it's considered a disposable pen. - It's retractable. I hate pens with a cap that invariably gets lost. Up to now, my favorite pen has been a Waterman that I bought for $100 in the mid-90s. I'm putting it back in its case because the Zebra F-402 is my new favorite pen. Read more
