Surprisingly stable.
This is a very attractive - and shockingly sturdy - little occasional table. I absolutely love the heavy, weighted base. I was very concerned when I ordered this table that its small size would equate to it being lightweight, and that I would have to take extreme care to prevent it from constantly tipping over. That is not the case, at all. It is very stable and sound. I ordered the Rustic Brown version of this product and I like the contrast of the black metal base against the distressed look brown laminate top. While I do - really - wish that the tabletop had been constructed from actual wood, (even inexpensive rubberwood or bamboo) the "engineered wood" does look nice. Time will tell how long it maintains its finish with frequent use. Assembly was very quick and simple. All of the components were clearly labeled and easy to figure out. My table did arrive with a fairly significant dent in the top section of the metal pole. Which is a little frustrating, as I planned to use it in an area with 360 degree views, rather than against a wall where I could better hide the damage. A couple of the screws attaching the tabletop to the metal rim were also tightened with a bit more zeal than necessary, resulting in minor damage to the particleboard. These are both small issues, but they do indicate a somewhat lax approach in the manufacturer's quality control measures. Flaws and all, I do like this little table very much. It is the perfect size for holding a drink and a phone or tablet within easy reach when placed next to a chair. I also think, had my table arrived undamaged, that the current $49.99 price is fair. Factoring in the flaws, I would give this table a solid 3.5 stars, if possible. Since I can't, I like it well enough to bump it up to a 4 rather than down to a 3. Read more
