Stable connection; a Zigbee hub is needed.
I’ve used some name-brand WiFi smart plugs, but they always become unstable at some point, and a few models just refused to connect after a few weeks of use. Since I have an Amazon Echo that can act as a Zigbee hub, I picked up these outlets and they work perfectly. I’ve never had a single instance where the outlet switch got stuck, lost connection, or anything like that. Not even once. I also like the form factor since I can fit 4 in my 2x3 6-outlet panel. They’re slightly more expensive compared to WiFi plugs, but I’d say they’re definitely worth the small price difference considering how much hassle they’ve saved me. You’ll need a Zigbee hub like an Echo (not the Dot version) to connect them nonetheless. Read more
