I'm using this on top of my nightstand to bring things up a little higher level with my bed (my nightstand is lower than my bed). Now everything is at a better height and I don't have to reach down for things. I might get another stand to put next to the first one to make the whole top of my nightstand level. The stand looks nice, nice weight too, it's not going to move around easily. It's nice and sturdy too, I can put things on top of it and not worry about it collapsing from the weight! My wife got this for me last year to set my laptop on, and I couldn't be happier. My laptop sits at the perfect height for me on my desk with this riser, and has the desk acting as a shelf on the bottom, one more shelf and appears to be solid wood with a real nice walnut stain that matches my desk.
