Great product and great customer service!! Bought this initially has a hail Mary to attempt to fix the zipper on a wallet that was very sentimental to my daughter. I followed the video instructions that are on their website, and was able to fix the zipper! I was the hero for a day. The most common theme and expert here is to keep your broken zipper around--be buried with it, if possible! Well, I didn't do that. All metal. No weak snapping together. Decent quality--not great. Zipper-slides, fitted on newer items these days, simply disentegrate. It seems that they are painted ceramic--not metal. So, the industry is problematic, in the first place. (This reminds me of a cheap chain-link remover for bicycle tires. The body of it actually was ceramic--not painted silver!) I man handled the stop and the first teeth to ptove perpendicular to each other. After much frustration, I got it on. (It's very easy to install it upside-down!, or on the wrong side!) I also attempted with another slide--seemingly, that slide appeared to have a better fit. It would not slide at all: That's puzzling. It does zip up and down nominally, currently. This kit enabled me to salvage an expensive fleece and a puffy vest, both with broken zipper pulls. The directions recommended pulling or prying off the top zipper guards, which I couldn’t manage to do with pliers, so I just made a little snip between the top teeth with my scissors and then sewed them shut when I was done. There are a limited number of zipper pulls in the kit, so I had to use a black one rather than silver on my fleece, but it was much cheaper than replacement cost or the $45 I was quoted by a seamstress to replace the entire zipper. This was not as easy to install as the video shows, but with a little bit of Determination, I was able to get the replacement zipper installed, and the new stop at the top of the teeth pressed into place. It was a great replacement and it works like a champ. The secret, of course, is making sure you’re using the right zipper head, but this kit comes with a variety for you to use. The product works and with just a little thought and effort you can repair most zippers. The issue for me is they provide 11 slides of various sizes but only 4 bottom stops. Slides and bottom stop as well as top stops should match, otherwise you can only repair a maximum of 4 zippers. Read more
