Zippo Ice Lighter

My advice to everyone, whether you smoke or not, get a good quality lighter, and you can't beat Zippo. They're well known for their outstanding quality and durability. I don't need to expand on that, as it's pretty common knowledge. Probably the most well known brand, and easily the best value. What I can say about this one, with the Candy Apple Red finish, looks amazing. I've owned a few Zippos, with some fun artwork on them, but I always love the minimalist style of either a chrome or brushed steel, or a single color. This is the later. Very classy, very stylish. I am very satisfied with with this lighter. Some people note that the color was somewhat different than the picture that is posted for it - given the different color settings on a person monitor, and the different settings on whatever camera the image was recorded with it's virtually impossible to accurately identify whether the picture you see will accurately portray the exact shade of the lighter. For example, in my opinion, when my lighter came it is nearly exactly the same shade that is shown on my monitor in the picture. Suffice to say, though, that this lighter is very handsome - For my personal description, the color is a deep red with what almost looks like a brushed metal look (however the finish is not actually brushed metal - it's a powder coat and is smooth to the touch). Personally, I have kept this lighter in my pocket (the same one I keep my keys in) for the past several weeks. I think that there are likely a few new scratches in the coat, however I cannot make out what would be "new" and what is the original design - also, the finish is still smooth to the touch. Either my hypothesis that there must be at least a few new scratches is correct and just cannot identify them, or the finish is more durable than anticipated (I've dropped it a handful of times - It's had a sufficient breaking in period I'd think). In my pocket, however, the smooth finish has developed some "smeared" blemishes (not permanent), probably from oils or grime on my hands. These are just like the spots that develop on the screen of your phone and the like. While they do not particularly bother me (I am just casually carrying this in my pocket - I expect it to be aesthetically annihilated in a short time), they should wash off easily enough for those who are bothered. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star is rather trivial and does not greatly inconvenience me - when I received the lighter, opening the mechanism caused the insert to slide up ever so slightly. After being opened 3-4 times the insert would need to be reseated at the bottom of the case to close. In an attempt to remedy this, I followed the instructions I had seen given by many sources online to remedy this issue by trying to "pinch" the middle section of the case a bit to tighten the it. As it would seem, though, the metal that this case is composed of is remarkably elastic, and despite all of my efforts I was unable to plastically deform the actual case at all, and the insert remained loose - in my efforts, though, the significant elastic deformation the case was subjected to did, however, loosen the hinge between the top and bottom of the case. I seemed to be unable to tighten the lid any using conventional methods, so the top cover does pivot a very small amount ( <1mm of play at the front edge of the case). The loose lid was my own doing, however, the loose nature of the insert's friction seal remained. I did ultimately solve this by always taking a small (~1/2 inch wide) strip of paper and wrapping it underneath the insert so that when I pushed in the insert the paper coming up on each side sufficiently tightened the seating of the insert so it did not slide.
