Wanted to share how much i like these new lighter inserts. they fit perfectly into my existing Zippo and work reliably every time I use them. I've tested them during trips and even in everyday tasks like lighting candles or starting a campfire. it's nice knowing i don’t have to carry a full lighter all the time, just swap these in when needed. definitely a handy upgrade that makes parts replacement super easy and quick.😊 feeling pleased with the quality and convenience so far. will keep using these for sure! I bought this butane insert over 4 years ago and it never really worked that well. I tried the suggestions to remove the limiter, etc... and then the thought occurred me to recently to adjust it without the limiter. This worked. I was able to find the minimum point where it would stay barely ignited. Then turned it until it was using fuel too fast. Then backed it down to find a good sweet spot. Then I re-inserted the limiter based on this. Now it easily ignites and stays on, and repeat ignitions are 100% reliable. I no longer have to worry about the Zippo fuel drying with the old wick setup. I can also buy Zippo butane fuel relatively cheaply at my local store. If yours doesn't ignite properly, stay lit, or uses fuel too quickly - I suggest playing with the adjustments with or without the limiter to get it to work. Read more

Seems like these lighter inserts work well for everyday use, especially when you're out camping or just need a quick light at home. I like how easy they are to swap into my existing Zippo. However, they don't last very long before needing a refill, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're in a hurry. Still, they’re a handy backup and save me some money since I can replace just the insert instead of the whole lighter. Overall, a decent purchase for quick lighting needs but could improve on durability. Read more

I never successfully refilled a butane lighter before. I recently found some cheap knock off butane zippo, already filled on shelf. But they're junk. I saw zippo brand had a dual torch. Ummm yes! I couldn't fill and didnt understand why. I have universal tips. I thought i was spraying gas all over the lighter. After looking up tutorials, none mention my user error problem. I just spraying that cold co2 or whatever, I wasnt giving the nozzle the full gusto. I didnt try full gusto, because I thought I got gas all over. 😔🤭 I saw a tip eventually that to let the can get room temp again between refills. I realized too most of my attempts would have been that cold biproduct. It works just great now. The full + is too big of torch but turning it down too much doesnt light at all. But the setting that works is perfect. Maybe my story will help someone else out. 🫰 Read more

I was glad there was an option to upgrade the beat up traditional zippo naphtha insert in the zippo I've been carrying for a couple of decades now. Butane lighters are obviously hotter and easier to use to ignite combustibles, less of a mess to refill, and don't impart a taste to whatever you might be inhaling. That said, the only way I can get this butane insert to reliably light and stay lit is to turn the flame up as far as it will go using the little screw in the bottom of the lighter. When I first got this thing it was set to about 2/3 or 3/4 of fully opened, and it would only light about every tenth click, and even then it would usually only stay on for a couple of seconds. Most clicks just produced a spit of flame that quickly went out. I was almost ready to return it, but I figured I might as well mess with it a little before sending it back; that was when I realized the flame could be turned up a little higher with a small flathead screwdriver. Now that I've done so, the lighter lights almost every time and stays burning as long as the button is depressed--or until the butane runs out, which, unfortunately, doesn't take too long with the flame up at maximum. There's no reason for a lighter flame to be that large, especially because I have the dual burner model, but it's the only way to make the thing run properly. All and all, it was worth the <$20 to have a zippo with a butane system in my beloved old case, and butane refills are cheap enough, but I certainly wouldn't want to trust this lighter to last longer than a night at the bar. If you're out in the bush where your comfort and potentially your safety are contingent upon having a reliable flame, bring something else along. Zippo has been around for decades, maybe future versions of their butane inserts will be more reliable. Or maybe they can be the first company to design a plasma lighter that doesn't suck. Read more

Let me start off with I have owned and collected Zippo lighters for 40+ years. I love them! So when I saw they had a torch option, I was elated! I’ve only carried torches for the last couple of years for my cigars. So I bought this and bought a zippo to use specifically for this purpose. This is absolute utter garbage! It will only light about 1/20th of the time. I have drained and bled it numerous times, I only use high quality butane that has been filtered multiple times and I have extensive experience with butane torches. My MUCH cheaper ones work practically flawlessly. But this one, just infuriates me to the core. I have tried bleeding and filling it. I have adjusted the flame up and down, I have cleaned it. It is just garbage. It is a shame that Zippo would put their name on this garbage. Do not waste your time or money on this. Read more
