I collect Zippos and usually carry one for the heck of it. I was using one on a camping trip and a younger buddy... Who is leaving for the Marines in a few months... Said he really wanted a zippo. So, I got him this USMC zippo. It was brand new, in a black zippo box, white outer sleeve over the black box, and a USMC trademark sticker, even had USMC above the lighter inside the box. My Father and I frequently smoke cigars together and I cringed every time I saw him use one of those disposable lighters, so I thought this would be a perfect gift. After being a Captain in the Marine Corps, he has tremendous pride in that USMC title that he's earned, I knew he would love this. I've had this lighter for about a year and use it almost everyday. As a Zippo lighter, it performed great. The overlay looks good as well but just don't drop the lighter. I'm pretty good about not dropping lighters but I did drop this one last week on the linoleum floor in the kitchen and the top overlay popped off. The adhesive did not hold. I would have expected that on a harder surface but linoleum has a little bounce. So, if you get one of these, do not drop it. Read more
