Zippo Navy Lighters

I bought this ligher as a gift for a friend. I found it to be well constructed and the stamped Navy logo to have great detail with a quality plating. Overall it was on-par with Zippo construction and expect it to last a long time. My friend is a cigar smoker so I also purchased a ZPlus butane torch insert for this lighter. Together they're a winning package for your Navy buddy who smokes cigars. This lighter also would work well with the Thunderbird soft flame butane insert. My only note of warning is this brushed metal Zippo is like all brushed metal Zippos - It'll hide most scratches and fingerprints but in a pocket with keys and other items it will become lightly scratched. What is there to say? It's a Zippo. Fantastic build quality, solid in the hand, mechanically engineered to stand up to years of use...there's really none better. And if you need more, well, go into your favorite search engine and type in "Zippo Tricks." I like the brushed steel...it has a kind of texture to it, which makes it easier for me to hold. Windproof for all intents and purposes, I have one of these in each of my camping/go bag kits. For the others in my family though, I provisioned plain old Zippos. For me...hey, Go Navy. had a little trouble getting the insert out of the outer case, after trying unsuccessfully by hand, had to use a small screwdriver placed through a chimney hole then tapped against it with a little hammer to make it release, then waxed the insert and manually pushed and pulled it out back and forth several times to loosen it up enough so that i can now pull the insert free by hand. got this for my brother for an xmas gift. it came quicky in the classic zippo box, with not a mark on the packaging or finish and new stickers still in-tact. it is sturdy and masculine, the action is flawless, does not leak, and strikes like a champ. had it engraved on the back smooth side for an extra keepsake quality. as always the great quality of zippo is displayed through this piece. would recommend it in a heartbeat! The Zippo part worked great; I love it. I take this guy camping with me all the time and it works great. Unfortunately, the logo fell off after a month of very light use. If I had to do this all again, I would get the basic stainless Zippo without the logo. Read more
