What can I say, this thing is a beast. Heavy, well made, pivots easily and securely ... just really a solid feel when you are using it. Perfectly lined up for setting hands. It came with the metal tips installed. A couple of the tips worked their way lose in shipping, but no matter, I opened the cap on top of the unit to get the plastic tips out and installed those, stored the metal tips in the top storage for later for as needed during builds. It's a little pricey, I haven't used any of the ones that look like this one but cost anywhere from 50 - 100 less, but decided to just bite the bullet and get the one I wanted, no regrets. This item feels and looks well built. Functions as intended. Rotational movement and position locking impressive. Great shipping materials. Definitely worth the price of admission. Vertical motion and accuracy could be better but acceptable. This product would greatly benefit by including a generic, flat platen, information on optional movement holders and replacement parts.
