This sharpener is very delicate but does the job well on my Miyabi knifes. I would not recommend this for any knifes other than thin and extra sharp Japanese style ones. Read more

If you've got Japanese knives, this will save them
Long ago I was gifted a Miyabi chef's knife and over the years I found myself using an older, German-made Wusthof knife more and more as I found the Miyabi was not as sharp, despite sharpening it often in a Wusthof sharpener. It wasn't until I discovered that Japanese knives are ground to a different angle that I figured out why: The Wusthof sharpener, which sharpens at a different angle, was ruining the edge of the Miyabi. I bought this knife sharpener, ran my Miyabi through it several times and, viola, it's sharp again and is again my go-to knife when cooking. Couldn't ask for more. Highly recommended. Read more

I think it works as it's supposed too... but I can't help but think it'll only last a few months. I could be wrong.. fingers crossed. Brings my myabi back to life and that's all I'm looking for. WOULD RECOMMEND!!!!!!! Read more
