I get bad neck and shoulder aches every once in a while. A pillow will do fine for a while, but I guess depending on lifestyle factors, I go through cycles of sleeping more in certain positions than others, and while I should probably get some therapy or exercise more to address the root cause, my preferred fix was to search for a better pillow situation for these times when I'm tossing and turning so much more throughout the night. I was looking at a $100 similar cloud-like pillow for weeks, thinking ugh, what if its literally like every other pillow... then I saw this Zz version for about 40% less, and read reviews saying they were nearly identical except this one has the curve, so I pulled the trigger. The first night I wasn't sure - Hard to explain but most memory foam pillows are so tough to me, that when they compress it is so hard that it feels like i'm laying my head on a hard table and it physically hurts my skin. Other pillows that have a soft sponginess don't hurt my skin but just don't support my neck. I have a short neck, and I have often thought that my ideal pillow would be a smaller/shorter version of a typical contoured foam pillow, with a smaller and shorter neck hump, and a deeper head cradle indention so that my head doesn't feel so lifted. However I couldn't seem to find that combination in all of existence. So, when I originally laid on this out of the box, I was worried that it would fall into the same category as the too tough/thick pillows that I could never adopt. However, it is much softer and bouncier than other thick/foam pillows of the same size, so it didn't prop me up too high. After the 1st night I woke up in less pain than the night before. After the 2nd night, it really started growing on me. I'm about 2 weeks in now, and I love this thing. It is somehow perfect for most of my sleeping positions. I do sometimes have to flip the pillow around in the middle of the night between the higher side and the lower/curved side depending on the position I'm moving into. And very occasionally, I still reach for a slightly less dense foam pillow for a flat back position. Overall, after two weeks I have noticed less and less need for switching pillows/sides and have ended up using the curved side almost exclusively. Hands down would buy again, and will be buying at least one more. I wish I had ordered the king size version initially. Highly recommend a zippered/closable pillow case as the material is slick and cases slide off easily. TLDR; Took a few days to get used to, but this pillow's curvature options, softness, and support are just incredible for my cycles of back, side, and front/side sleeping. Highly recommend if you have neck/shoulder sleeping pain. Read more

I'm not sure this is my ultimate 100% perfect pillow but it's pretty close. I am a primarily side sleeper and my old down alternative pillow was giving me ongoing shoulder and neck pain and tight muscles from lack of neck support (although it was pretty good for when I rolled onto my back). I tried an adjustable shredded memory foam shoulder cutout pillow (too firm and thick even after removing half the fill, and lacking the correct neck/shoulder support), solid latex (too thick, bent my neck upwards and impossible to ever sleep on my back), then moved onto this one. I seriously considered the cushion lab pillow but I thought it would be too thick overall and the corners too high, and it doesn't have the shoulder cutout. This one seemed like it would be a winner with the shoulder cutout, the lower overall thickness, and the less pronounced difference between the center divot and corner bumps. I think this pillow does a really good job of keeping my neck in the correct alignment and providing support for a side sleeper (average size woman, average size shoulders). I love the cutout which means that even when side sleeping my head is primarily in the center divot. But the corners aren't too pronounced, I can roll onto them if I want to. It is just thin enough that I can sleep on my back although I don't think that's the ideal use case. My neck and shoulder pain are significantly reduced although not 100% eliminated using this pillow. Visiting my sister's house and sleeping on some generic fiberfill pillow my neck pain came back immediately, and I really missed this one. I think I am done pillow questing for now, this provides the right support and I can't really imagine another pillow shape getting better results. The firmness is spot on, good support but not so firm that it makes my ear hurt (a problem I have had with solid memory foam pillows in the past). The cover is on the cooler side but not life changing. Read more

I loved the curve of this pillow. I ended up returning it though because I am a side sleeper and the loft didn't feel tall/supportive enough for my neck, especially in the center where it dips for back sleepers. The fabric was really soft and it was very heavy so it didn't shift around and I tossed and turned. I was sad that it didn't work out because I really liked the feel of the pillow. Read more

This is hands down the best pillow. I’ve suffered through years of terrible down alternative pillows and memory foam pillows that didn’t do squat in supporting my neck. This pillow is the most supportive one yet while still maintaining a marshmallow-y softness. Straight up it’s like sleeping in a marshmallow. In the best way… save for the stickiness. It took away my neck pain from all the strain of an unsupportive pillow. I don’t wake up tight or have that feeling I need to stretch. Bye bye headaches first thing in the morning! It sits, nestled in my shoulder and head when I sleep on my side and keeps my head at a comfortable height when on my back. Thick enough to support, cushy enough to settle into (not sink). This is a dupe of the Cushion Lab pillow for fifty-ish dollars when I bought it. Great price for what I need! And it came nicely vacuumed sealed, inflated with no smell! Oh, and the pillow case?! It feels like heaven. Read more

I really wanted to love this pillow. It is soft and comfortable and works well for sleeping on my back. BUT, it does not work for sleeping on my side, which I do most of the time. I do switch between the two but this pillow just isn’t it for me. I kept going back to it because it is soft and has some support. It just is not high enough/supportive enough on the sides for me as a side sleeper. It’s seems it will be much higher in the pictures/description than it is. Read more
