Pretty, until my ears reacted

These were great until about 4 weeks into wearing them and then all of a sudden all of my earring holes (8 of them) became inflamed, one to the point of bleeding. I had to remove all of them and let my ears heal. The posts had turned a dark color, almost black, which is why I believe it was the earrings. I do not have sensitive ears, I can normally wear junk earrings, cheap earrings, any kind of metal earrings, I can sleep in my earrings, I rarely take them out so the reaction my ears had was surprise to me.
