Instead of throw pillows I like to use regular pillows for my TV room. I go for comfort over style, but still would like a little style. Throw pillows are hard to clean and tend not to be comfortable. Bedroom pillows are more hygienic as I can easily wash the cases and the pillow protectors. They are more comfortable for guests as well, but tend to look messy when pillows are sticking out of cases. They are also kinda ugly. Enter the zippered pillowcase. It is hard to find zippered pillowcases that have some character rather then just being one color with no design. This pillowcase is a nice dark navy color with subtle stripes which works for my furniture and decor. I bought a set of standard cases for the back pillows (skinnier normal bed pillows) and the queen sized for the contour memory foam pillow (the lap table pillow for tablets and such) and the fluffy queen sized pillow. I measured my pillows before I bought the pillowcases to make sure they would fit. The cases wash well (the smaller ones have been washed 3 times, the queen sized once as I bought the queens later.) People really use the heck out of these pillows, falling asleep on them, spilling food or drinks on them, etc, so being able to wash these cases and the separate pillow protectors is fabulous. Note that the instructions say to remove the cases from the dryer before they are dry to prevent wrinkles. I have not done that. There was also the burgundy towel washing incident. But in spite of my failure to follow the drying rules, they still look pretty good and are not wrinkly, and the burgundy fuzzies are mostly gone now. The zipper goes across the full width of the pillowcase and seems sturdy. This is important given how often I need to remove the cases for washing- I don't want the pillowcase to tear when putting it on the pillow. The zipper tab is small and blends into the pillowcase nicely. These zippered pillowcases work far better than the envelope style and keep the pillows from sticking out. The pillowcases were not soft when they arrived. 600 thread count tends to start stiff and scratchy. They are getting softer with use and each washing. The Bounce dryer sheets help. Overall, these are some of the best looking pillowcases for my living room that I have found so far. They don't scream bedroom pillow and have a touch of elegance. I have bought two sets so far. These are great! I love that they are cotton. The fabric is a nice weight and feel. The zipper is great and they wash well. Nothing to fault with these little guys! I use them for my mini pillow for between my knees at night since I am a side sleeper and the cotton feels good on my skin! The white is nice and bright and they are a good bargain. Don’t hesitate! Thread count is good. Made well. Zipper is helpful and works perfectly. The only reason I am doing a 4 star rating is because Egyptian cotton is soft. These are scratchy on first use. Hoping they get softer with a few washes. Read more

PROS: - Natural 100% cotton - Breathable (not hot to sleep in) - Soft sateen (not rough, but not silky smooth either) - Small hidden zipper - Fabric is sewn on each edge of zipper CONS: - Shrinks about 1” after washing - Doesn’t seem like 600 thread count; is fairly thin (semi-translucent; can see through fabric - doesn’t hide pillow labels) - Not bright white - Wrinkles easily Overall, it’s medium quality and good for the price, but wish it was a little thicker. Doesn’t feel like 600 thread count or long-staple Egyptian cotton (should be more dense & silky if it was). Read more

If this product had been sold, and purchased, as polyester then I would have given it 5*. Claiming that these are cotton is laughable. I am a fiber artist with lots of fiber allergies. Because of this, I can identify most fibers by touch. The fiber in these pillow cases is scratchy like a nasty, 100% polyester. On the other hand, these pillow cases are well made with a sturdy, well functioning, hidden zipper. They also have a high enough thread count to serve for the purpose which I have bought them for. Since these pillowcases actually do absorb water, I will be very happy with them, despite the false advertising. You see, I have a lot of Pig Mat Socks that have aged out of their outer fabric. Since I am always finding myself needing Pig Mats and Pig Mat Socks for something, I decided to just take the stuffing out of the old Pig Mat Socks and stuff them into something fabric and wash and dryable. This will allow my expensive old Pig Mat Socks to continue serving me for years more. Thus, these pillowcases will serve my needs well. However, I would NEVER voluntarily put my sensitive face on these scratchy pillowcases. It is uncomfortable enough, for my poor hands, having to handle these cases long enough to prepare and stuff them. I guess it is possible that these pillowcases are made from the new, GMO cotton that has had polyester spliced into it, making it act and feel like polyester, despite being grown on a cotton plant. I have run into several items that are using that fiber product. Most are not absorbent, but they are also not as scratchy as this fiber is. Who knows. I might simply be allergic to this GMO product, though, as I just touched it to my face and now my face is swelling and burning... This is not a reaction I have ever had to cotton before, despite working with cotton for decades in my different fiber arts... Read more
