Bought this because our old battery packs, with identical size, capacity, and appearance, provided a maximum of 10w of power. At the same price, this pack provides twice as much output power. However, one of the pair started buzzing loudly while charging an iPhone yesterday. I unplugged it and set it down on cement in case it decided to spontaneously combust. The next morning, with no sign of combustion, I took it apart to look for loose connections, corrosion, or bad solder joints. Couldn't find any of the above. I guess it's possible that the DC-DC chopper circuit was making the noise, but I'm not going to take a chance, as the internal batteries are the pouch-style that is typically not protected against the many possible failure-conditions (overcharging, short-circuiting, reverse-charging) that can cause catastrophic failure of Lithium batteries. TL/DR: Works okay but may not offer the safety and security associated with leading Lithium battery manufacturers. Read more
