I tried this product because of my positive experience with the company's benzoyl peroxide bar. This salicylic acid bar lathers quickly and easily, a little goes a long way. Easy to wash with, no strong odor, feels slick while washing but leaves no detectable residue. Once dried, my skin feels completely free of everything but the skin itself. I haven't experienced any excessive dryness (but I also use a moisturizer on my face after I wash). All in all an effective, inexpensive, seemingly well made bar. I get blocked pores along my jawline, as a side effect of taking corticosteroids. I was advised by my dermatologist, to use a salicylic treatment, to gently exfoliate the area. I tried a few salicylic creams and ointments... they helped somewhat. However, I felt as though, I could see better results perhaps using a salicylic cleanser. I tried this bar soap and what a difference. It lathers up nicely... it rinses away completely and truly rids my skin of clogged pores. I'm very pleased with the results. I do recommend this product. I have been having trouble with acne my whole life. Most medicated soaps and creams don't work for me. I have been having terrible acne and folliculitis for a couple weeks, and i discovered my shampoo was most likely the culprit. I’m cautious about switching skin care products as everything, even products for breakouts, breaks me out. I’m trying to switch from bottles to bars for the environment and for travel ease so I took the chance. The good news is this hasn’t caused break outs. It dries and travels well and so will last a long time. Also removed makeup cleanly. My only issue is I feel a bit of a film on my face after use. It’s fine for travel as I use the salicylic acid products only at night and when I’m out and about I generally get ready first thing in the morning so would wash with something else right away. I wouldn’t enjoy the feeling if I was lounging around the next morning. I’ll finish the bar, but may continue searching for a long term solution. Read more
I've been using this product for a couple years now and I must say it works wonders. It works gently and helps to exfoliate my dry skin patches in a way that doesn't leave me itchy or irritated. I use it with an abrasive scrub rag and the duo is unbeatable. It also has the added benefit of not making you smell horrible like some exfoliating soap products. I highly recommend giving it a shot.
