I have purchased extra plastic lids for my glass Mason Jars from Amazon several times. When I needed another set, instead of ordering the same set I had ordered in the past, I chose this company, because the reviews were very good and the price was better. I was surprised when they arrived unassembled, meaning the clear gaskets were not already installed in the lids, but I took a moment to install them, noting the gaskets fit perfectly and are easy to slide into place. I have used the lids for both dry and wet storage since purchasing them, on a variety of jars (name brand Mason and Ball as well as old jelly jars and mayonnaise jars), and these have thread onto every jar perfectly so far. They also seal very well, even when I "tested" them my turning jars of pear juice and apple sauce upside down to see if they would leak. (NO leaks). So I will purchase these lids again, if I make another order! I recommend them. Read more
I make my dogs food for the week and freeze it in 10 oz mason jars. I found that the metal lids that came with the jars presented a couple of problems such as I had to keep up with two pieces for the lids, they would rust after being washed in the dishwasher, they dented easily, and when I took the food out of the freezer I would have to sit the food on the counter for about five minutes to allow the lid to loosen before I could remove it. Running water over the frozen metal lid didn't work. To eliminate these problems we decided to get these plastic lids and they are perfect! They wash well on the top shelf of my dishwasher and dry quickly. I do not fill the jars to the top so once I put the gaskets into the lids they did not need to be removed because they never come in contact with any food, but if they did need to be removed that can be done easily with a butter knife. I'm so glad that I found these lids. I'm strongly contemplating getting another set because they were not easy to find initially and I do not want to be without them. They look nice in the white color and though it's just dog food, I do love how cute they look in my freezer. The plastic is thick enough to maintain it's stability from freezer to dishwasher many times over. I love that they are reusable and all I have to do is put them in the dishwasher. Wish I had bought these sooner. My homemade pickled red onion are hitting different now that I'm storing them in jar with these lids. Takes the most frustrating part of using ball jars (the metal 2 piece top) and completely removes that annoyance.
