Then when the more expensive pair arrived, I said I'm giving them to my wife and I will keep these 12x50s instead. I purchased and received these binoculars two weeks ago, and so far very pleased with them. In general, they are well made and great value for the money – Those are great quality Product. When you hold them in hand, they felt much smaller and light weighted than what they looks, and not bulky at all. When talking about the most critical part of the binocular- you won’t be disappointed. the quality of the images are super clear, at all distance. The focus is very easy and intuitive and you should be able to master it after playing them several time. Another great time is these binoculars has the ability to take pictures with the attached phone adaptor. My kids like this feature so much since they love picture and look at them afterward. I haven’t tried the video yet, but will definitely try next time and from what I experience so far, I don’t think it will be any quality problem at all. I compared with this new toy with one of my friend $1500 toy, and to be honest, I cannot tell any big difference on the image quality and the only thing probably is the brightness. However, I don’t think the slight difference worth the $1000 +. Unless you are looking for professional level, this should meet most of your needs for observation of widelife and birdwatching. Overall, I have zero regrets and super happy about this purchase – it is indeed a great tool for general observation, for both adult and kids. Look like real good quality. Has that rubber grip feel. Was hoping so, not just hard plastic. I fine tuned them and was seriously impressed, then I read the directions. Lol I was just a hair off. Did one thing before the other. Easy to adjust, size great and light weight. Optics are great too. I could read the tire brand on a car across the Walmart parking lot when I was just getting them out, before instructions. The smartphone adapter is tricky but I have a full waterproof case cover on my phone which makes it thicker. So I finally came to grips with reality, that's the issue. Not into that anyway. The box has the general specifications on the back for a handy reference. The description of the product and “what’s in the box” on Amazon was spot on. Items of note in the package are… • a soft carrying case with shoulder strap • a phone adapter • protective lens caps for both the front and rear lenses • a neck strap for binoculars • soft lens cleaning cloth There were also two other items that made me very happy. It comes with an instruction booklet printed in a very readable font and great graphics to help get the point across. It also comes with a card with instructions to activate a Lifetime Warranty on one side and how to “Solve any Problem in 24 hours” on the flip side. General Impressions Recently I picked up a small pair of IBQ binoculars for our vacation. As these served me well, I thought I would give the nod to IBQ for our new hobby. We’ve recently become enamored with hummingbirds. This year we even put up some feeders in our back yard. We also have a tall stand of woods and thought it would be great to meet some of our songbirds up close. This product gave us a window into their world we had never had before. The clarity of the image was amazing. And when the hummingbirds would settle in for a drink, it was so cool to see them with that level of detail. I’ve yet to get a picture of one as they move so quickly. But I’m not giving up and will certainly share some when my luck improves. And speaking of pictures…the phone adapter works great! Even though I have an older Android phone and truly got some amazing photos. When I first mounted the phone onto the binoculars the picture had a dark ring around it. I found that you just need to zoom in a bit on the phone to remove that effect. With that said, the phone and binoculars together are too heavy for me to hold for any length of time. These binoculars thankfully come with a mounting point for a tripod. However, it does not come with the adapter required to mount the binoculars on a tripod. I can understand that this adapter may be useless for some people. But it would be great if the manufacturer could provide one on request. Or maybe put a link in their literature to one or two that would work with their product. Summary This is a high-end professional grade product. These 12 x 50s produced bright colors and clear sharp images with very little tinkering to get things right. They come with clear readable instructions, a lifetime warranty and a “contact us” information card should problems arise. It means a lot when a manufacturer stands behind their product. I’ve had products from other manufacturers in the past where this information was buried deeply on some web page or just not available at all. Even though I haven’t yet had to use it…it’s one of the reasons I’ve become a repeat customer. Perfection is an elusive target.
