It’s what you expect

The media could not be loaded. It’s got a hard bottom and so much space. It’s perfect for the home handyman or even a pro. I can fit my drill, multimeter, sockets, drill bits, screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, wrenches, and knives plus I still have room for more. So worth the money! Read more

Spacious and Versatile

First impression out of the box: wow. This tool bag is a lot bigger in person, even knowing the dimensions beforehand. One huge difference with this bag is that it's rectangular, not A-shaped like a lot of zippered tool bags. This is hardly the first one I've seen but the triangular ones practically grow on trees around here. Utilizing a squared-off form factor rather than giving the top a tapered peak means your interior space and exterior surface area are maximized, allowing for the carry of more and bigger equipment. I haven't even begun to stuff this bad boy with tools yet but I was so impressed with it right from the jump that I had to get the review out of the way. Is it the best tool bag money can buy? Probably not. But it appears to be an excellent choice within its price range. The only thing that would change my mind is if it turns out the bag isn't tough enough to work hard all week. I'll be seeing that for myself soon enough. Just based on initial examination this bag will definitely be replacing one of the bags I use every day at work. It even has reflective strips on it and safety yellow piping, which makes it ideal for someone like myself who works on the road and in the street. Size wise this is an upgrade for the 12 and 15 inch bags I already have, and with the rectangular form factor this could potentially even be an upgrade for an 18 inch bag with the peaked top. There's a generous number of exterior pockets and compartments, and unlike some bags with a thousand small pockets this brand opted to give us less pockets but make them hold more. My only gripes are the omission of a dedicated metal tape-measure clip and a clear sleeve to display your ID or a business card. Also, there's only one exterior pocket with a flap closure; the rest are open at the top. This is normal and shouldn't be considered a true negative, but I personally would have preferred at least one other pocket with a flap or even a zipper. However, the bag does provide two adjustable vertical straps at two corners, as well as two horizontal strips with full-length velcro. The slider straps at the corners are meant to secure the ends of a longer tool such as a level or a breaker bar, and the velcro strips are for locking down the handles of taller tools stored in the side pouches. I'm sure these features can be adaptively improvised to suit various needs. There are no pockets to speak of on the inside but there are four elastic loops to hold tools such as a flashlight or a large pair of pliers. You also have a fabric-covered hard divider with velcro stays, which allows the ample interior to be split up into smaller modular compartments to suit your needs. The entire inside of the top is taken up by a clear plastic pocket with a zipper closure. This looks like a good place to store documents or instruction manuals, but it's not technically waterproof since the exterior wall of the compartment doesn't appear to be insulated, but it is at least a couple layers thick. Still, I think I'd be careful before taking this out in the rain with important papers inside. The pocket could be a place to store flat tools like a protractor or even a tablet. It is document-sized and has only the one opening. Smaller items may be a hassle to retrieve. The adjustable shoulder strap uses real metal clips and hardware, not plastic. Also provided are handles made of tough webbing like the shoulder strap and which can be bound together using a padded velcro grip. The solid bottom is not the expected hard plastic but rather a rigid soft-touch material with slight give, and is attached with a double row of stitching for added strength. The underside has extruded "feet" at the corners but is otherwise devoid of topography save for an embossed logo. As noted, this review is based on a strong and positive first impression, and on that basis alone I'd give this bag an easy five stars. That being said, I still have to load this bag up with tools and see how it performs on the job. Anything that causes me to change my mind about the rating will be promptly reflected in an update to the review. In the absence of such an update, buy with confidence. UPDATE 5/27/25: First, the good news. This bag did what I was hoping it would do: allow me to upgrade from an already excellent Stanley FatMax bag into something that occupies the same or smaller footprint but holds slightly more. And it was one major tool that I needed in this bag that didn't fit in the FatMax. That tool fits in here no problem. But some notes. The two adjustable strap loops on the front of the bag, where you're supposed to retain a long tool, those should really be on the reverse side. It would just make more sense. The velcro closure on the flap pocket is, in my opinion, inadequate. It works, but not well. I feel there should be at least a couple more exterior pockets with closures, whether velcro or a zipper. I think there needs to be at least a couple more interior pockets as well, nothing too crazy but the elastic loops alone are insufficient. I also find that the otherwise very welcome reflective safety strip across the zippered top is not nearly as uniformly visible as I think it needs to be. They could relocate it, or better yet add a couple extras. I also noticed that the bag isn't perfectly rectangular at all. The top has a slight downward slope towards the front of the bag. This isn't a pro or a con, just an update to my earlier impression. I've had to settle for utilizing the single flap pocket for storage of my specialty sockets (see photo), and that wouldn't have been my preferred method. It's serviceable for the time being and I'm certain I will get used to it. The modular divider system is actually quite useful. I still like the bag but I hope the manufacturer will see my notes and make updates. Read more

A nice tool bag with a lot of pockets and straps to organize my hand tools.

This tool bag is black polyester so it folds and collapses when empty. I like the high-contrast yellow trim with some reflective bands. The bottom two inches have a harder form so that part holds its shape. There are many pockets/sleeves, and straps on the outside perimeters. The two sides have attached velcro straps that hold hand tools securely in place. An inner separator is included which velcros in place. The zippered hood has an interior, clear, and zippered pocket that is good for paperwork. Two straps to nowhere hang on either side of the front. If I pull out one of the buckle loops it makes a hoop. Both of them together can hold something across the front. A couple of marketing pictures show a level held with these straps. Inside is an elastic band sewn into the back for securing more tools. There are a lot of pockets, straps, and loops to organize my tools. There are sturdy hand-carrying straps and a shoulder strap with a cushion. My old metal toolbox has sharp edges and clanking tools. It is a jumble of unorganized tools. This softer case will keep things organized and won't dent or scratch the things around it. It would make a good gift. Read more
