I've had cheaper ceramic heaters with the plus and minus touch surfaces to control temperatures and the fan settings. If you've ever needed to raise or lower the temperature in the middle of the night for some reason, my experience is that I had to get out of bed, turn the light on and actually diddle with the + or - touch surface to get any result. They are so finicky you have to touch EXACTLY in the right spot and with the EXACT finger-tip pressure those little Chinese contraptions require. So, after much dithering and cursing, I am wide awake. There are 4 positions on the one knob (easy to memorize): off, fan only, low and high which turns on the heat. The temp control is a varying thermostatic control that reacts instantly to how hot or cold the room is. It also has a tip over switch for safety. The kicker to this deal is that it doesn't cost any more that the ones with the touch (in)sensitive switches that are everywhere. Read more

This is an almost perfect little heater. I purchased one last winter at 500 watts and was "impressed" as I thought that was as good as it got, before being schooled and realizing higher wattage produced more heat, duh. So bought this one at 1500 watts, turned it on shortly after it arrived, put it under my desk by my legs and it's the most perfect thing ever - perfect adjustable heat that's heavenly. The ONLY problem I have with it (and, again, would still re-purchase this as-is to be clear) is that the tipover safety feature saw it continually turning off as I moved my legs/self around - all my rooms are carpet and for some reason the tipover feature is extra-sensitive on the deep pile. So I had to experiment with putting things underneath the heater that would keep it from turning off. Finally jerry-rigged it to stay on while on the carpet no matter how much I move around, but wish I didn't have to have something additional under my desk just so the heater stays on. Would still recommend because otherwise it does exactly what it said it would do and what I need it to do. Excellent for $20-something dollars. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This thing only functioned/worked during the four days I used it, then it suddenly stopped working, and of course, I threw away the box it came in because it turned on that first day, and now I’m stuck with it. During the four days, less than a weeks, that it worked, the noise wasn’t bad, it was barely noticeable, but then it stopped making any noise whatsoever, and there was an awful smell of burnt coming out of it. Of course, not matter what settings is moved to with the control buttons or dials, there was no heat coming out of it as well. So now since I already threw away the box, I’m stuck with this thing that doesn’t work and is just taking up space in my house. Oh! And just if anyone is wondering it doesn’t come with a Remote, and no, I didn’t leave it on for that long, just occasionally at night, I have two jobs and work every day, therefore I’m out of my house for most of the day.
