I bought a pair of dumbbells that weigh 10 lb each, twice more than most dumbbells of this design. It's easy to add and remove pair(s) of weights in order to switch between 4, 6, 8 and 10 lb, and a simple latching mechanism keeps the weights on the dumbbells. The weights are squarish, so the dumbbells do not roll on the floor. The dumbbells look stylish, and the metal bar contoured for the palm is textured in the central section for good gripping. These are so versatile and cut down on clutter for a home gym. They are so easy to adjust that you can quickly change weights mid circuit to find the perfect weight for each movement. The square shape prevents rolls and provides stability for renegade rows and other movements. Would happily recommend these to anyone on their fitness journey. They are pretty to look at too.
