Leister is a Swiss manufacturer of machines for welding plastics. I bought a Weldy HT1600 plastic kit because Weldy is a Leister company. Weldy is manufactured in China to reduce costs, which allows consumers to more easily access Leister's significant design and engineering experience. And it's a great machine. The heat can be truly fine tuned, its pretty quiet, it doesn't vibrate in any meaningful way, and it holds temps well. It works great. Most of all it has that intangible of being a satisfying tool to own and use. It looks and feels well built. It is the most expensive Chinese machine out there I think, but the extra cost, in my opinion, is more than returned in the form of a better machine. The welder is fine but the U Grove replacement blades don't fit the tool. The tool came with 11mm blades. The replacement blades are 12mm.
