To call this device an MP3 player is a bit misleading, because it can do so much more. I think the best way to think of it is as an Android phone without the calling capability (although you could probably work around even that with wifi calling apps). --The device comes installed with a number of custom apps as well as some familiar apps that most Android users will recognize. Apps are managed through the Google Play store, so you can get updates as needed. --The MP3 player is solid. What I like about the music playback is that you are not confined to the MP3 format. I tend to rip a lot of my CDs to FLAC files, and was glad to find that this player supports that format, as well as APE and WAV. --The provided storage is adequate for most needs. The player itself has 32GB of native storage, and adds a plug-in microSD card with an additional 128GB. Although I have not tried it out, the manufacturer claims that you can swap the microSD card for ones up to 1TB capacity, which would be truly impressive. So far I have not needed to add that much storage. --The video playback is pretty good, considering the price point. The screen resolution is not going to rival a higher-end Samsung or iPhone display, but still it is fine for most needs. The player comes with YouTube installed. You can also add video files to the SD card for more viewing options. --The battery life is solid. I can get 6-8 hours of playback before needing to recharge. --The side switches (including volume control and power buttons) work well and should be easy for most cell phone users to manage. --The player comes with a snug fitting silicone case and a screen protector, so you won't have to buy those extras. --The earbuds that come with the player are not very good, but it you use a higher end pair of earbuds or headphones you'll find that the sound quality is surprisingly decent. I will caution, however, that you must use a 3.5" type jack; the USB-C port is only for charging and storage management and does not work with USB-C headphones. --Your other sound option is Bluetooth, and that feature works well. It's pretty easy to connect earbuds to the player. I originally expected a basic high-capacity MP3 player, but this device turned out to be far more capable than advertised. It runs full Android 13 and sets up just like a small WiFi-only smartphone. Setup & Interface Setup was straightforward. After connecting to WiFi and signing into Google, it behaved exactly like a modern Android phone. It has full access to Google Play, and apps installed without issue. Streaming services like Spotify, Amazon Music, and Pandora worked normally. This is not a locked-down media player — it’s a functional Android device without cellular service. Storage & SD Card Support Mine came with a 128GB SD card pre-installed. I tested a second microSD card with locally stored music files, and the device read it immediately with no issues. Playback started right away. For anyone with a personal music library, this is a big plus. Expandable storage is something many modern phones don’t even offer anymore. Bluetooth Performance Bluetooth pairing was quick and stable. I tested connection range and experienced no dropouts or stuttering. It reconnects properly after powering off and back on. Audio/video sync during streaming content was normal. Audio & Speaker The built-in speaker is small (as expected), but perfectly fine for casual listening or testing. Through Bluetooth and wired headphones, sound quality was clean with no noticeable noise or distortion at reasonable volume levels. Screen & Build The 4.5-inch HD touchscreen is smaller than a phone, but responsive and sharp enough for streaming, apps, and media browsing. It feels like a compact media device rather than a toy. What It Really Is This isn’t just a high-capacity MP3 player. If you want a compact Android media device that handles streaming, apps, and local files smoothly, this delivers. The only tradeoff is the smaller screen size, but for portability and dedicated media use, that’s actually part of the appeal.
