Absorbent as claimed and went through the washer/dryer as advertised. It is a really soft, almost like a plushy. I love the towel but you should know it blots up water as soon as it touches your skin, you don't rub with it to dry yourself. I like that but it was strange at first. I love the thickness, it's not paper thin but it's not thick like a regular bath towel. The thickness compares to a beach towel but the texture is different.
