2018 RackMac mini - 1U Rack Kit for 2 Mac minis RACK-MIN-2XA

Looks right at home in rack. Power button and power led window are very practical and thoughtful features. Was able to secure my thunderbolt hub, ssd storage and power supply in the second bay with dual lock and some cable management ties. All connectors are available from the back of the unit without opening and the whole kit is secure enough to travel in a mobile rack (though this one's going to sit in my studio). Only potential downside in my installation is that this fully covered, full depth unit sitting at the top of my rack limits the effectiveness of my built in rack fan by blocking the airflow to other equipment in the rack. You take a look at this, and say to yourself, “Gosh that’s an awful lot to pay for some bent steel and a couple of buttons,“ but let me tell you, I’ve tried others, and this rack shelf is the best thing I’ve found for Mac Minis. No need to go crawling around the back to press the power button or try to connect something quickly — it’s all right there on the front, and it makes managing cables out of the back a lot easier too. Totally worth it, and looks clean. Hot tip: give yourself a blank panel or some other short shelf above or below this rack shelf, so you don’t have to go scraping your knuckles when you do need to plug or unplug something from the backside. I really like this rack unit. Its very solid and functions wonderfully for keeping your macs in a rack and having them protected while having the ability to turn them on and off as well as access to a USB port. The one thing I will say is it is a VERY TIGHT fit to get the M1 in here. Not sure about the other models but I was almost certain this wasnt going to work when putting my units in this rack. But assure you they do fit its just very very tight. Read more

Works great with M2Pro Mac mini. Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about when they say it's a tight fit. Unless they're pinching the USB cable when trying to close the lid, it's not tight at all. It's snug-they can't slide around in the case once the lid is closed and screwed. Read more

I also have the older model. Keeps my mac minis in the rack securely and conveniently. high quality and very convenient - has a front USB port + a front power button. Both are used frequently. One rack has one mini and I connect both front USB ports to it. Read more

You get what you pay for!! This can be pricey but well worth it!! Would buy the sonnet products in a heart beat. The screws where kinda cheap but be gentle, its good stuff. It holds out two max mini well and has the power and usb in front. Good stuff. Read more
