Is the world ready for a strapless mask?

I have reviewed countless sleep masks over the past few years (click on my name above) and to date, I have never encountered one where I felt the straps across the ears were uncomfortable. But okay, this is an interesting idea that someone came up and perhaps they are trying to revolutionize the sleep mask market taking it by storm as if ear straps were enemy #1. The idea here is that the mask sticks to your face thanks to a border of icky silicon adhesive. I have to say, it took a few minutes to get used to and the silicon was just sticky enough to keep the mask in place but gave a sort of uneasy feeling while placing it on and taking it off. Remarkably, it doesn't leave any residue. So what did this total lack of ear strap support feel like? Interestingly, it does feel like there is less weight on the face. The mask did an excellent job blocking light. The thing that concerns me is that while this is reusable and washable, the instructions clearly state that over time the adhesive may become less effective. The manufacturer has only tested it for 15 uses. I can readily see that this is not going to hold up long-term like a normal mask would. Listen, I can't knock this product for doing what it says, but unless you have terrible experiences with normal sleep masks, I can't readily recommend this product for long-term use. Read more

Blocks light 100%

This is a no strap mask for sleeping. Straps can be bothersome for me so this was an awesome idea. I really like how sticky this is because even after tossing and turning at night, it does not fall off. I have been using this for a few days and the sticky glue is still very strong. Removing the mask in the morning does not hurt. The material is soft and it blocks light 100% I get a great night of sleep and feel refreshed in the morning. Give this a try! Read more

This is a fascinating alternative to traditional sleep masks. Offering a sticky mask in place of the straps that are not always comfortable or convenient is a genius idea. The mask is blackout dark. The adhesive is not obnoxious, but holds well - I assume after so many uses, the adhesive will fail. The fabric is soft. Overall, I find the mask comfortable. Worth considering. Read more
